Help me out - Vegas hotels, which one?
Im arriving 30th and i need a hotel till the 6th, Im staying at someone elses room from 6-9.
I dont have a clue where to book. I want to stay in the hotel where the convention is or very close, walking distance. I want a decent room but dont feel like paying 400 bucks a night just to sleep somewhere you know. Any suggestions? Do i book online and pay by cc? Or do i just book the room and pay when i arrive? |

You book now because it won't be available later. Go to vegas.com and get it there. There is a Best Western I think that is close to the action but at the site you will see your options.

You can also stay at the new Wynn. Although not done yet - I know a construction worker whom you can stay with at his trailer on the property

Since you are leaving on the 6th, your best pick would be the the Mandalay Bay or any hotel at the bottom of the strip (Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, Tropicana)
Since I am staying for both Internext and AVN Shows, I booked at the Imperial palace right in the middle of the Bay and Venetian |

Tropicana and Excalibur are probably the cheapest within walking distance of Mandalay Bay. Luxor isn't so bad (I'm staying there) and you can get a great price directly through their site.
Since you're planning on staying over New Year's Eve, you should book ASAP. The prices for the 30th, 31st and 1st are going up on a weekly basis. The Luxor will cost ya $1323 with the 31st alone costing you $349.

At this late stage the best you will probably get on the strip will be $150 a night at the Tropicana or similiar unless you go off strip or downtown where you will get <$100.
Although it would be good to be within crawling distance of your room from the convention you should be just fine further away. It depends what kind of a conventioneer/partier you are. Do you really need to go back and forth to your room every ten minutes to reapply cologne etc? Do you think being at most a $10 cab ride away will ruin your chances of getting Teen Kelly or Juicy back to your room? Treat each day like a sightseeing day trip and just go back to your room at the end of the day to change/shower etc for the night time stuff and you will have many more options for room choices. |
