Ever heard of things like "staying healthy" and such? A healthy diet is a big part of that.

I figured it was for appearance since "South Beach" is so appearance oriented.

i dont believe in yoyo dieting. i just eat healthy food, high calories, and work out.

It worked very well for me because I was eating a lot of bread.

After hitting the bread a lot again, most of the weight came back

It worked EXTREMELY well when I was on low carb AND exercised a bit. I exercised only one day though

The initial phase lasts only 2 weeks though. Many people get hooked on the first phase because they see fast results.

But after the first 2-4 weeks a plateau is reached, and nothing moves on.

After eating some (healthy) carbs again, the fat bruner immediately starts working again.

Just gotta be careful with the carbs then

The problem with the initial phase is that I think it might be rather unhealthy.

Its actually much healthier than atkins, since what you are eating is good fats.

The first time I did the south beach diet a few years back i lost 14llbs in 2 weeks, and havent put any of that back on. I tried it again 6 months ago though and didnt lose anything.

It is - relatively - unhealthy because you miss the "ballast materials" (or whatever the english term is). Those are mostly in carb food. But I don't see it as a risk considering the short period.

The missing ballast materials clearly show when you take a shit. It has the consistence of cow shit, no more human "sausages". On a good note, farting goes away almost completely.
