Are you going to require a prenuptial agreement?

When you get married, will you require your fiance to sign a prenuptial agreement? For me it would be a top priority, i think ive worked hard for what i have and i wouldn't risk losing 1/2 over a divorce that would probably start with a stupid fight.

stuff is just that - stuff.

i don't think i'd want to marry with a prenub in place to be honest - it's like saying it won't last, so why bother in the first place.

I would marry with a prenup for sure.

Not because I think it wouldn't last, but because if she ever divorced me, I don't want her next guy to have my money.

Yea ive thought about that, but if my fiance refused to sign a prenum is saying she would only want me for financial reasons and doesnt expect to advance in her own carrear.

not all, its just that woman for the most part think with thier emotions and not logic. They many know they probably don't deserve 1/2 of everything the guy she's divorcing owns but her emotions tell her to seek revenge against him and what better way than taking 1/2 of what he's worked his entire life for.

Wait, if a marriage isn't working out, the male is the stupid part and deserves to have half his possessions taken away?

Absolutely going to have a prenup.

I can't stand the thought of paying someone a monthly stipend just because they happened to be married to me once.

All community property will of course be split down the middle, houses, cars, joint savings accounts etc.
But there will be absolutely no alimony and she gets none of my business or individual retirement accounts, and I don't want any of her salary or accounts she has in her name either.

And have you ever thought that many women make more money than their partners? My father did not contribute one single penny to the house my parents live in, nor did he contribute one penny to bills or groceries or my tuition for school or to raising me. Did my mom sign a pre nup? No!
Is it likely that I and many other women can make or go make more money than their significant others....Yes!

Prenups are for people with existing wealth. And I don't mean a few 100,000's either.

If your going to get a prenup, why bother? I didn't get one, I am not rich, and I love my wife. If we split up and she needs some help, I would give it to her.

If your marrying someone you have to worry about, then your doing the wrong thing already.

Falling in love is a chemical reaction that lasts for ~six years.

But the point is that you never know nowadays, no matter how much you are in love and no matter how much you say that you would never consider a divorce.

Maximum.

Reasons: Because there is absolutely nothing holding anyone back from getting a divorce in today's society. When the love fades, and your genes make you fall in love with others (it's perfectly reasonable and even highly desirable according to evolutionary psychology), your marriage doesn't stand much of a chance unless you both have an understanding of continuing the marriage out of convenience, stigma, and/or because you have become good friends.

my wife and I had almost nothing when we met...i was a coke addict who dealt about 3 ounces a week just to support my 1.5 ounce a week habit...and she was a stripper in lexington ky, no money to be made

everything we have we worked hard together to get....so, no prenup was needed...

i would never require one from her anyway...we love each other

No prenup for me. If I required a prenup, I wouldn't bother getting married in the first place. No matter how much wealth I have, My wife will work and we will each have our seperate savings accounts/investments that are strictly our own.

Well, my man right now barely has any money/posessions so it's not really an issue. I am not a gold digger so that's not a quality that I look for in someone. As for me, I don't have a ton of money, but I do have lots, lots more than him, but if we ever got divorced I doubt he would want any from me, because that's not the kind of person he is.

And if I was with a rich man and we divorced because he cheated on me or something similar, I would hate his guts so much that I would SPIT on his money. I would not even give him the satisfaction of thinking that I would even need his money. I would rather work at a fast food restaurant than giving him that power.

First of all if it flys, fucks or drives its better to lease
Second if you do get married just make sure everything is in place in a proper trust before then there is no need for a prenup

If the marrige lasts, it's meaningless..
if it doesn't last, you're fucked when she takes half while banging a 20 year old poolboy and becomes his sugardaddy with your money.

You're making a restaurant pay $100k because you were clumsy and fell over.

Of course there are woman who make more thier partners, my sister makes at least twice as much as her husband does and so dues my aunt. Prenups have nothing to do with what gender you are but are put in place to protect what youve worked hard for your whole life in case someday a stupid fight starts. The fight could range from anything like she thinks you don't want to see her or she thinks your cheating and becomes jealous. It could go both ways.
