It has now been 30 hours and we are still slow as shit Our support box is full of people cancelling and complaining of site speed. I really hope this gets settled soon. It looks like it may be a load balancer issue.

This is also loading very slowly for us
http://tour.twistys.com/t1/revs=NoAdvert/index.html

Not to mention sales are 50% of what they should be this morning and cancels are 400% of what they should be.

I'm a little concerned because I got a support email from Ray claiming everything looked ok IT's definitely not ok. I hope they haven't stopped working on this thinking it's OK.

Downloads of zips and vids are fast for both Socal and Us. It's the loading of the page that is painfully slow.

I do not think it is a Bandwidth problem,
Looks like a server load problem, or some program going crazy.

According to the Page File Sizes, which are huge, I get better than expected load times...

I host at jupiter and 3 days ago my domain simply dropped out of google. Used to be PR6 now i got a grey bar.

Some people suggested IP problems.
I dont know what the fuck is going on

BTW shap, i noticed http://tour.twistys.com - no PR (grey bar)
http://www.socalcoeds.com = grey bar also.

Shitty, we called tech support 3 hours ago reporting the problem (again) and were told someone would call us back. No call back. I'm getting the feeling either they've got nobody available or are avoiding us.

Shap -

Signups are low this morning for us too, but it has NOTHING to do with our host. Our servers at Jupiter have been fast as hell all day and nite. You don't see anyone complaining about GFY's speed, do you?

And your tour is fast as hell:

As you say, the problem is your members server. Sounds like it's getting hammered by password traders, or spiders, or one of the many potential problems we all have when we run members servers. These things happen. On another note, I was talking to the Socal people last week, and they told me about they we doing some programming and it was affecting perfomance.

Lensman i said this earlier if it is our fault i'll admit to that. I'm 99% sure it's a jupiter hosting problem. We've had the feeling the load balancer has been screwed for a while. Jupiter told us it was fine. All indications are that the load balancer is causing this problem. I know socal is experiencing a similar problem and they are also using I believe a similar load balance set up that was set up BY JUPITER and from my understanding Jupiter's responsibility.

I'm not asking anybody to compare GFY to my member's area. I've got a slow member's area and I'm asking Jupiter to fix the problem. It's not password traders. It's not spiders. That we know. Jupiter has been working on this for the last day with no luck. I'd just like this situation to be over with.

That's rediculous. There are a million reasons why you could lose your PR. The only way it could be IP based if you shared an ip with a google spammer. Sometimes your affiliates can fuck your PR because of redirection of Google traffic.

http://www.adult.com/ = PR5 (Same hosting company)

http://www.naughtyamerica.com/ = PR2 (same company as socalcoeds)

http://ps5.twistyscash.com/ = PR5

so something must wrong with server configuration / network

maybe it affects only a few servers ?

Btw Lens, from your posts I get the impression that you are saying just because gfy is fast it's automatically a problem on our end not jupiter. That's a very false statement, wouldn't you agree? If our load balancer is failing who's fault is it? It surely isn't ours. It's Jupiter's. Right? You are making it sound like unless gfy is slow I shouldn't be posting any jupiter problems.

Also how about this.
Yesterday we put in an urgent ticket. It took 4 hours before we got a reply, we got a reply but no solution.

Last night we had our ticket closed saying everything was fine. I have a bandwidth chart that clearly shows, to any tech looking at it, that our shit was not FINE and the ticket should not be closed.

This morning we call support. We are told they'll call back asap. That was 3 and a half HOURS ago.

Our member's area is insanely slow. Oddly enough Andreas (socal) also started experiencing this at almost the exact same time.

Yesterday ad lest couple days, there were many complaints across the internet as a whole (the full gamut of hosts/providers) about networking in issues.

It's possible your problem was related to this.

We are just trying to get to the bottom of this issue. If it is a problem on our end that is fine. People in this thread have been making guesses that it might be on our end, but no one from Jupiter has given us any indication that it is on our end. If it is so obvious that its our fault, then why don't they point it out to us?

It is plain to see from the bandwidth chart that bandwidth is down 30% since Monday at noon and showing no signs of improving. We are getting no feedback from Jupiter as to what we should be doing on our end to fix it, so until we get that feedback we are going to assume that it is not on our end.

In spite of that, our tech guy has spent many hours researching the issue from our side, but with ZERO feedback (besides "looks OK to us") from Jupiter it is all guesswork, and possibly a waste of time if we are in the dark on the real issue.

Lensman, if your bandwidth charts were off 30%, and the answer you got from your hosting company was "looks ok to us", would you accept that answer?

Nobody wants to hear their hosting company tell them what the problem "might be" or what they "think" the problem is? How about a real solution to a real problem fixed in a timely manner?

Good luck Shap'ster

Fair enough. Our reports were right across from east to west above the 49th...

Did you make any changes around that time?

New software.
Software updates.
Adding updates to a DB that might have screwed something up (broken indexes in a DB can slow anything to a halt).
Anything.

Have you checked your DB's if they are OK?

Nothing changed Swedguy. Our stuff has been running smooth for over a year. On our end we've spent the past 2 days going over every possible solution for it. No luck. Ray and his crew are on it, i just talked to him. Hopefully we'll have a solution soon

I do believe Lensman owns controlling power of Jupiter hosting ^^'

Erm but the member area isn't really loading at all in the U.K... 3mbit connection here.

fast or slow for you guys?
It took 17 sec on a 3mbps cable conn in Las Vegas.

My site www.jillpages.com has also been slower in the past few days. I notice the time it takes to source the DNS is long.

Your site load quickly here in canada Shap.

Lensman why I see megabit.com for the first DNS

Domain servers in listed order:

NS1.MEGABIG.COM 66.60.188.230
NS4.JUPITERHOSTING.COM 66.77.140.200

Is it that Jupiterhosting is a mirror only for gofuckyourself.com ?
