Why Does MeatCash Charge To Send A Check?

I get charged a "Check Service Fee" of $2.95 for each check they send me.

Why?

I rather pay 2.95 and get my check on time all the time then have lousy sponsors doing the checks couple days late and stuff

Maybe they are paying $2.95 to have your checks mailed? Maybe they would prefer you use another payout method?

DOn't know their model, but what is wrong with that?

Some sponsors claim they pay 65% revshare, and then when you look good in ccbill, you see, you have to pay the processing fees of 15% for them.

So basically they are 50/50.

BTW, what about a direct deposit, are you US webmasters prefering this method?

Andre

What is wrong with charging $2.95 to send a check? Lots.

As far as processing fees, some sponsors carry them, others do not. That is usually stated in the TOS.

I do not know if Meatcash offers direct deposit.

When the 2,95 is stated in the TOS, it's their deal. That's what I mean

agreed.
When their terms stated you will be charged a fee for your check there is nothing to bitch about. Means you knew it upfront and werent forced to promote their sites.

Wanting to know the reason why one is charged $2.95 for sending a check is not "bitching". Also, their terms do not mention a fee for sending checks.

ok, then you should hit em up and ask what this is all about. There are no "standards" in this industry. Everybody goes by their own rules. CCBill wanted to charge me 25 bucks cancelation fee for a $24 buck check they sent me... you know ;)

I just didnt want people getting the wrong impression. This thread is not an attack on Meatcash. I love Meatcash and their sites.

I was simply curious about this fee.

It's lame. REALLY lame.

What it allows them to do is claim that their payout is higher than it actually is.

Like those retailers who sell you a PS2 on ebay for $1 ... but charge $149 handling fee.

What it is, is dishonest.

I can't speak for Meatcash, but I can speak about our experiences with sending affiliate payments by check.

In a word, they are a pain in the ass. You pay for the check, the envelope and postage. But, that's not the problem.

Real problems arise when checks go missing in the mail, or are not handled correctly by the receiving bank. Then you've got to do a stop payment, and a re-issue. The administrative costs are huge for this.

We currently don't charge a fee for checks, but are considering it. The main reason for the fee would be to encourage webmasters to choose easier payment methods (eg. epassporte or moneybookers). (BTW, if we did this, it would be fully disclosed beforehand.)

i would never use a sponsor that charged to have checks issued...or that forced me to use any onlinbe payment service

i want a check, and I don't want to be charged for it

when I worked 9-5 jobs, my employer never charged me to get paid.....my check was free...i earned it

and if I send my hard worked for traffic to someone and they can't afford to cut me a check, fuck them, they don't need to be be in this business...i just made that company $500-1000, and they are gunna charge me to be paid? HAHA

When you are a smaller company, fees start adding up. Bank fees alone we get charged hundreds for each month. And for what? $.19 for every check I write and clear. So webmaster payments twice monthly, then normal bills. Then for every check out of the US I deposit, $3 charge. There are tons more ... so add bank fees to postage to envelopes to checks, it adds up.

very true some people use services to cut the checks and they charge a fee to cut them I bet this is what is going on at meat cash and they are simply passing that fee on to you

Hello Guys,

The $2.95 includes all the admin fees includes postage, an accountant to ensure that you are paid properly and on time, and check printing costs.

That said, I understand why some of think we shouldn't charge for the services.

With the next re-launch of Meatcash due February, we will eliminate the check cutting charges, offer epassporte and wiring options as well as pps and a gangload of other perks.

If you have any questions or other concerns, please hit me up and we are always striving to make our customers and webmasters happy.

Thanks
Arthur

Yes, it costs money to run a business. There are fees for just about everything, including cutting checks, bandwidth, hosting, and content. However, charging affiliates a fee to cover the cost of sending checks is like charging affiliates for bandwidth used on free hosted galleries to help cover the cost of hosting. The sponsor should be capable of generating enough revenue to cover their own business expenses.

The re-launch of Meatcash will be eliminating the check fee and be offering PPS? Sounds awesome!

Like Nick said, Meatcash are good people.

OK, how would you feel about getting a $2 or $3 BONUS for choosing an on-line payment option, rather than a check? Would that convince anyone to choose epayments over paper payments?

Just thinking out-loud....
