Why the fuck would anyone want to get 'married' in its current state?

im willing to settle with marriage rights only
mainly hospital visitations and such, although hospital people don't give a hoot who are and everyone knew we were gay at the last hospital after so many visits. the problem is that those who oppose gay marriage, fear that creating civil unions will be something straights would go after and start marrying less
