im willing to settle with marriage rights only
mainly hospital visitations and such, although hospital people don't give a hoot who are and everyone knew we were gay at the last hospital after so many visits.

the problem is that those who oppose gay marriage, fear that creating civil unions will be something straights would go after and start marrying less

There is your problem....If you are going into a marriage with thoughts of what happens if you get a divorce, then you shouldn't get married in the first place because the notion of doubt is already in your mind.

Marriage isn't just a thing to do if you really understand the meaning of marriage. Some people take it serious and some don't.
