Why didn't the Vietnamese do the same against the French and then the US?

Why didn't the Americans do the same when the British ruled America?

Your logic is a faulty as you thinking the Chinese need to invade Hong Kong.

My logic was very flawed. This is exactly what happens when I post at 2AM while I'm on pain medication.

They are fighting for their freedom? Highly unlikely. They are fighting to restore the power they had under Saddam - when they walked the countryside and everyone feared them. The people who are doing this crap in Iraq aren't freedom fighters; They are monsters who want to remain in power.

Freedom fighters don't chop off people's heads.

WND or not, three was a dozen valid reasons to go into Iraq. You CANNOT tell me that Iraq won't be better off ten years from now.

While everyone bitched about the UN sanctions killing "tens of thousands of children" Saddam was sitting there getting rich off of it.

It was going to have to be done eventually.

Iraq was only going to get worse with Saddams sons next in line.

UN sanctions were a joke.
France and Russia were benifiting with Saddam in power. They would have never voted to uphold any resolutions regardless

The best way to handel Iraq would have been to get rid of sadam with a singel shot. It could have been done.

But, It comes back to Bush getting a little pay back for his father.

We all know that he used 911 as an excuse to get a declaration for war.

Now there us even talk that Sadam was not involved with 911.

The thing that I think most people have forgotten about the up comming ellection is that BUSH has a Declaration of War. For right now he can choose to either step down if he looses, or continue in the seat as president until the end of that declaration by congress. Which means that BUSH can continue to wage his war where ever he thinks it will be the most fun.

I am REALLY struggling to see the connection between common sense and your rebuttal. Just because you CAN do something does not mean it is smart. You CAN walk outside with a gun in a holster when the police are in a stressful stand off but you WILL probably be arrested if not shot immediately. That is not rocket science.

What do the french resistance, americans, british and veitnemese have to do with non militant civilians not doing things that will cause them to be mistaken as targets? You think if a southern vietnemese farmer popped off a few rounds in the air or ground while a platoon was nearby they would not slam m16 round into him even though he was not North Viet? Do you think a innocent farmer who shot his musketloader in the air while the red coats were marching through would have been asked "Friend of foe" before they fired a front line volley at him? If you are in a war zone or in an occupied area the LAST thing you do is fire a weapon or move towards the controling force as if you had agressive intent, anything else is suicide.

When you fight against a force of individuals who do not have a formal uniform to define them as a military target it is really hard to differentiate friend and foe. They did not oppress the people's freedom to shoot guns in the air, they killed them instantly because they are not going to wait to see what all the gunfire is about. Why is this so difficult to understand, do you really not understand the premise of war?
