I need your help. FAST!
I have 1 day to prove to my boss that Mac is better than PC. Please post any links you can think of that prove once and for all that PC is better than MAC. If I can convince him, he may be willing to switch out all our work computers to PC.
Pleeeeeeasse, help me get those shit sucking Macs out of our office. His arguments are going to be "well, I've heard that Mac's are better for graphics", and "Well, can't we get similar software for the mac?" Any links, or aticles, or online discussions, anything that I can print and take into a meeting tomorrow will help. Thanks, you fuckers. -RedShoe ------------------ <A HREF="http://usexfan.com/ebonypink/index.html" TARGET=_blank>RedShoe is: ![]() BoneProne Family Member |

Well, you could always challenge his intelligence with this statement:
MACs are for people that don't know how to program computers. ------------------ tit, A revolution in adult content: EROTICOPY |

I do not think there are a lot of sites directly comparing PC to Mac, proving that PC is better. It's mostly Apple trying to show that Macs are better Photoshoppers...
BUT IT'S JUST A PLAIN FACT THAT MACS SUCK !!! ------------------ <A HREF="http://www.erasercash.com/wm.html?ID=9077990" TARGET=_blank> ![]() </A> |

But why exactly don't you like Macs ? IMO MacOS 10 ain't that bad...
Actually, the more I think about it... if I had my company to get me a free PC, I'd get a brand new Dual G4 with the 24" TFT + MacOS 10, just cuz I am getting sick of PCs as well... ![]() Depends what the computers are gonna be used for.But anyways - if you wanna save money, go for a regular PC. ------------------ <A HREF="http://www.erasercash.com/wm.html?ID=9077990" TARGET=_blank> ![]() </A> |

In a more perfect world, where all macintosh computers would be. ----------- non jokes ----------- Reasons why PC's are better than Mac's PC's are faster. They have CISC processors. That means they have to give more instructions than the Mac...but they still do the job faster. If PC's were RISC (Reduced Instruction, like Mac's) that means they would be a lot more faster than compared to how much faster they are now. They are Multi-tasking. Which means they can handle more than one job at a time. In other words you can print a document in one program and surf the web in another. Macintosh computers cannot do that. MacOS 10 will be the first Macintosh OS to support multi-tasking, but it will not be available until 99-2000. Windows 95 lets you use two mouse buttons. That means less clutter on the screen with all these extra buttons, because Windows 95/98 can use right-click pull down menus. (Macintosh only has one mouse button). There is much more software for the PC than the Mac, about 1200% more. Software usually comes out for the Mac about 1/2 - 2 years after (if ever!) the same software has come out for the PC. Some Macintosh users like to argue that they only need two or three programs. If you use only two or three programs, how can you say the Mac is better? Software made for older Macintosh systems is not as compatible with newer Macintosh systems. Software from an 8086 computer (one of the first PC's made) can be run on a 400 MHZ Pentium 2 just as well, or even better. The Task Bar is movable on PC's (The Mac Bar cannot be moved at all). PC's cost less money. (PC's with Windows 95/98 cost generally $800 - $2000. A Macintosh with the same features would cost $1500 - $3000. And in this case, expensive is not always better. Macintosh computers crash more than PC's. Admit it Mac users! (Macintosh computers Crash about twice as much as Windows computers.) The Mac OS is more restrictive in what types of programs you open files with. For example, you must open a JPEG image with a viewer. You cannot open it with Simple Text. Now the Windows 95/98 equivalent to Simple Text is Notepad, and yes you can open a JPEG image, or any file you want, with Notepad Faster program switching on PC's than Mac. (On Windows you can switch programs in a single click with the Taskbar. With a Macintosh you have to hold down the mouse button and then let go on the right programs with Finder. Windows 95 takes less time to start up. (Whenever I startup a Mac it takes 60 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes. Windows takes about 45 seconds.) The new Macintosh computers have a keyboard design that came from the PC. Keyboards on the Mac are not as sturdy as PC keyboards. Windows 95 PC's have about 90% of the market. Now try to compare that to the 2% that Macintosh owns. That just proves how much better Windows is than Macintosh. Hey, even Steve Jobs owns an IBM Think Pad. Questions and Answers: Why do other websites and magazines say Macintosh is better: Because when the Macintosh first came out, it was considered easier to use than DOS based PC's. Another big reason why is because most people in working in media jobs e.g. TV, desktop publishing etc. that make that claim have bought Macintosh computers when they first came out for the reason above. Also the software Macintosh computers use, is not compatible with Windows computers, so they don't want to spend a lot of time upgrading their computers. Plus in addition to that people in media are so used to using Macintosh that they don't want to bother learning another OS. Are most webpages made on a Macintosh? No. That is basically a rumor that has been used to sell Macintosh computers. Is the Windows OS copied from the Mac OS? Not as much as you may think. The start menu might have been, but Macintosh stole almost everything (including the mouse) from a OS that Xerox made called the Alto. In fact, the Macintosh OS 8 has copied more things from Windows 95 than Windows 95 has ever copied from the Macintosh. For Example: Customizable colors for window bars and surfaces. Full Screen desktop pictures. Integration with the desktop and the web. Minimize feature in which windows on the screen become Tabs. Capability of using a two button mouse to have a right mouse button click. Is Windows really harder to use than the Mac? No! They are about the same. No you don't have all these error messages popping up on the screen (As said by some people at Apple and other Pro-Mac websites). And no you don't have to type in DOS (Only if you want to). How do I know that you are telling the truth? Why do you think Windows/PC's are so popular? There was a time when Macintosh computers were more popular but after a while people started choosing Windows. Just ask any of the Millions and Millions of Windows 95/98 users what they like better. They will say the same thing. Windows is simply better. What about the Adobe Photoshop speed tests? Adobe Photoshop is a program that was made for the Macintosh OS. So the tests can't really compare the true speed of "Power PC" to the Pentium. Well what about the Virtual PC? You think the Macintosh is better because you can run PC programs? So, the vMac for the PC can run Macintosh programs with System 7.5. Anyway the Virtual PC and vMac are emulators and emulators are known to be slow. Is the G3 faster than the Pentium 2? I have not heard of any tests other than the Photoshop test that suggests the G3 is faster. Comparing how fast they work with the operating systems they use, the Pentium 2 is quite a bit faster. Is the MacOS setup easier? Although the Macintosh MacOS setup is easier than the Windows 95 setup, on most Windows 95 systems that you buy, you do not need to setup the operating system because it is already done for you. Plus, the Windows 98 setup is a lot easier than Windows 95. Facts about Macintosh: Old Design: The MacOS has changed very little from its original design. This is bad, causing the MacOS to be "left back" in technology. Compare the difference between the MacOS 6.x to 8.x, and the difference between Windows 3.x to (4.x Windows 95/98), and you will find that Windows has changed a whole lot in appearance and construction, while the MacOS still looks and acts the same as it did practically ten years ago. And yet still most programs that were made for Windows 3.x can run on Windows 95/98, while most of the MacOS programs cannot be run on newer versions of the operating system without some sort of emulator. So it seems in fact, that the Apple Computer slogan "Think Different" doesn't seem to be what Apple is doing. Unstable? Throughout computing history, the Macintosh operating system has had a reputation for being unstable and prone to crashes. Now this can be very time consuming if you are working on something and forget to save it, and then your computer crashes causing you to loose all data that you entered in. iMac, is it better? You might have seen the new Apple computer commercials about the iMac. They show how PC's are so dis-organized and how the iMac is simple and "spiffy looking". This takes Apple back to a time we all remember, the Lisa years. The iMac's design resembles something of an Atari ST, and a kids, toy computer. Also, talk about not being expandable, everything has to be crammed into the space of a 15" monitor! Would this make the iMac popular? Maybe, but its all based around one of Apple's unique ad campaigns. But then again its just another example of how Apple "Thinks Different", or should I say the same as they did over fifteen years ago. Maybe they got amnesia and decided to make the "new" tiny computer design. |

Er... I think the non-jokes are a little old. Just change the numbers, if your boss is not very good with computers then he won't know the difference.
