By the way, I agree with most people here that it should be up to the indiviudual TGP2 owner whether to post galleries on free adult hosts or not. I plan to, but I do prefer paid hosts. Galleries usually look better on bannerless hosts, at least in my experiences.

TGP2 might be a good idea and is worth trying.

Automatic exclusion of free hosts is a bad idea.

Hundreds of thousands of webmasters and probably millions of sites are hosted by free hosts these days and that counts for a sizable chunk of the worlds bandwidth consumption - thats free bandwidth to the webmasters. Making money from tgp traffic has never been easy and free hosts make it easier for the webmaster. Banning them may help exodus out of its financial quagmire (or not) but I don't see anyone else benefitting. Many experienced webmasters use free hosts alongside their paid hosts - it makes sense as bandwidth costs and you can't be sure that you'll make any sales from the 100,000+ hits you get from tgp's in a day but you can be sure it will cost you an arm & a leg. Very few individual webmasters have the buying power to get affordable bandwidth - free hosts can and do so its easier for us to absorb the costs and make some money. For the webmaster its a win win situation - costs nothing and any sale is a bonus! For the tgp its also good - more better quality galleries will be posted and linked to more high traffic sites which means more surfers and more money.

One of the biggest gripes I hear (and I share) from webmasters about tgp's is their rules - they all have these silly rules designed to boost their ego's and income while minimizing webmaster income. Nobody likes too many rules and webmasters will just go elsewhere - there is ALWAYS an elsewhere to go to.

As has been said there are people who will try to screw tgps and hosts and sponsors any way they can - doesn't matter where they host. I mean there are loads of HIGHLY illegal sites hosted by commercial hosts/isps *somewhere* and with their own domains - you think they care about rules? You think they wont screw you for an extra dollar just because they pay for hosting?

Inclusion of a gallery, in my opinion, should only be based on QUALITY of the gallery as long as the fundamental (sensible) tgp2 rules are also adhered to.

This seems like a good idea, but it seems one problem still has not been addressed - traffic! Since TGP2s will be at a competitive disadvantage as far as traffic goes, we've got to generate and keep our own traffic.

Also, there's some other problems:

Does TGP2 allow pics on html pages? Now, does that mean the reviewers are all going to check the pages manually for consoles and timed consoles? Or are the TGP2s going to be required to have good link checking software?

Free hosts: Probably should be up to the individual TGP2, but I wouldn't allow them.. If you can't convert TGP2 galleries enough to pay for the minimal bandwidth - can you convert anything? Why bother? The only person it would be making money is the freehost, which is of course why Lightning made his impassioned plea.

Very interesting, I'd almost be interested in starting one up myself.

About the rules.. I´d go with:

Rule 1: 12-16 thumbs with 120 to 150 pixels of size.

Rule 2: 5 thumbs must link to big pics - but you can pick random thumbs - not the first 5, because this way the visitors will look at the whole page, not only the 5 first thumbs.

Rule 3: Galleries must be clean, and all the yadda yadda we all know

TGP2 is a great idea.

I build galleries. TPG2 will lower my bandwidth bill by 50% minimum. That is about a thouand dollars that I don't have to pay to the ISP.

I intend to setup a TGP2 site. I will demand high quality photography, which includes cropping, color blance, and other factors. I will also allow free host but they will be judged by the same standards as the galleries. I will not hesitate to ban a free host if their additions to the galleries do not meet tgp2 rules.

This idea will catch on if the webmasters provide tgp2 sites and the gallery makers realize what an opportunity this is to reduce their overhead.

As for sponsors, they live or die off of the traffic we send them. Every business lives by three basic factors: traffic; holding the interest of the customer, and closing the sale.

Some sponsors are nothing more than circle jerks, no offense to those that run clean sales programs, that finally convince the customer to buy. As webmaster, we should examine how the surfer is handled after we send him to a sponsor. We should expect the same high standards from sponsors as we expect of our selves and the ppl building galleries. If they will not then start banning galleries that use them. A 10% drop in signup will cause them to change their ways. (new addition, we will be sending high quality traffic, do you really think they will turn it away)

Finally TGP2 can refuse to trade with TGP, just as most CJ2 sites do not trade with CJ sites.

It will be interesting to watch what happens.

I do not believe that sponsors run this business. I see numerous post by ppl wanting to know what is converting. IMHO, we control the business by constantly searching for the best converting sponsor. When word gets around everyone jumps on the bandwagon and the other sponsors go wanting. Those that are not converting start rebuild their sites.

Good idea! But, Get Real!
This tgp2 idea don't have a chance against the current tgp's! In a sec I'll tell you why.
All of the webmasters soon or later realize that in the adult bizz you must fight 2 main fronts:
1-Against surfers.
2-Against other webmasters (tgp's owners against submitters).
Also webmaster/sponsor but thats other story.

If the idea don't gives a shit about surfers or other webmasters it will soon die. What are you trying to do here is fuck the surfer big time! You think that the surfers stupid? In the place of the surfer when I realize that this tg'p just gives first 5 full sized thumbs I would quickly push the x button and go to tgp that gives all for free!

You're trying to bite the hand you're eating from. But I totaly agree that giving the surfer 100% is very bad for the industry!All of the idea of free porn started from competition between webmasters over traffic, and the surfers got more and more (now they getting even movies for free. Hell what next? Live Feeds?).

The only reasonable combination will be it to keep it fair for all of the parts.

It surely will be hard to take from surfers something that they already have. 100% Free Porn. I don't say it can't be done, I think the best chance is to cut their breath in one move. But for that we will need good cooperation between webmasters.

We(webmasters) will need a whole new concept that will compete the old system. So it must be better for webmasters from all of the sides the surfers don't have the real choice here I doubt they will stop surfing porn hehe

So here is my suggestions:
1- ratio of clickable thumbs/non clickable. Must be 50/50. Ie. 15 thumbs gallery first 7 clickable, 30 then the first 15 clickable. You must give them something otherwise they'll go to tgp that gives them 30 thumbs all clickable. We will be able to lower the ratio to 1/3 once the idea catches up. Anyway all of the real action in the second part of series pictures gallery's! Also no small thumbs so the surfer can see the rest and not click hehehehe I'm cruel

2-We must increase the cooperation between the submitting webmasters and tgp owners. Each side MUST think of other side too! We all in this together (trying to make as much as possible from the surfers). On the submit pages the tgp will get 2 good links(as you would put for youre sponsor) to their sponsor, one at the top and one in the buttom so it will be in his interest to send you some traffic and change to tgp2. Also would be a good idea to put them more links the bigger the gallery. Help them make money and they will help you!!!

3-NO html pages on thumbs!(at least not at first) Just imagine checking all those pic pages?

4-Resips only to tgp2!

5-All of the categories.

Also I don't see big tgp's posting here.
I think that the small ones can start with the idea right away but the big ones will have to wait and join later on all in once to cut the surfers throat and so they will not be able to find it on other big tgp. In my opinion that will give a FUCKIN big Boost to the industry with offering the surfers just 1/2 for free!

TGP 2 is a new style TGP site
It requires galleries to be made with only 5 clickable thumbs leading to quality images either on html pages or leading to the big picture.

There can be up 15 more thumbs on a gallery but those may not be clickable(a small textlink below like join here leading to your sponsor is acceptable on most TGP2's)

This design was invented by Andy for the purpose of giving the surfer quality but less quantity resulting inmore productive hits, meaning more sales from your sponsor less costs in bandwidth and webspace.

It's about educating the surfer to let him/her know that the high quality stuff is in the member based sites.

And it's about eductaing webmasters that with less bandwidth costs and more productive traffic there's more money to be made on all fronts.

Sure TGP's are laughing (now) but once the idea sinks in and webmasters realise this we'll see who has the last laugh.
