Loneliness sucks, get out there and meet people. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you probably should think about therapy, you will get nothing but pain on this message board. Good luck..

Take a shower and dress in your best going out clothes and go meet some people tonight and remember no is just a 2 letter word and that there are many people that will say yes if you give them the chance...

We all get low sometimes.
Find out what is causing your depression, and overcome it.
Drinking alone never helps when you are depressed either.

i kinda feel the same way

i think its just a chemical imbalance in your brain

here at university theres a LOT of people who are depressed.. and every one of them have a radical change after anti depressants.

id suggest going to the doc, and get yourself cured. what youre feeling is not your fault, its a disease caused by a chemical imbalance. checkout zoloft.com

I'm depressed right now, being single is really shitty. I've been drinking all night, which would usually be fine, except I'm alone

I seriously need someone to cherish before I die of lonelyness

I'm to drunk to tell anyone any more about me.. Telling people being single sucks is hardly as revealing as taking a picture of my cock and making 10 threads about it

Edit: but since im drinking, i wont remember this. My problem is im shy, and having a hard time excersizing like I used to. Once I get my confidence back up, I'll be just like I was before

Allow me to share a little something with you all..

Since the age of about 13 (I'm 54 now), I have been high on something. Pain killers the doctor gave me for cramps started the whole thing, then I went to alcohol, and all type's of other drugs, if it got you high, then I took it.

I quit all of this about 10 yrs ago.

I got one of the biggest surprises of my life after I quit.. all of a sudden I was happy.. for no reason.

I didn't know what to think, because I had never experienced this particular feeling before. I thought happiness was something you felt when you were high. It took me a long time to start feeling this way (weeks, maybe as long as a couple months)

I had slips now and then over the last 10 years.. especially when I would get pain medicine from the doctor for one thing or another.

One thing that became crystal clear to me was that drugs and alcohol surpressed the natural happy feeling I was supposed to be feeling all those years.

Every time I slipped it would become clearer and clearer to me that this was indeed the case.

There must be something in drugs that interfere with the normal brain processes.

The last 3 or 4 times I slipped, I took notice of how long it took for me to get back to normal.. on pain medicine, it took 3 days, and with alcohol, it took over a week.

The doctor had told me that the pain medicine wasn't addictive, which what I realise meant that I wouldn't have withdrawl symptoms.. maybe that's why it only took 3 days to get back to normal.

What I felt during the times I slipped and during the withdrawl time was a little depression, but more of a lack of interest in things. I didn't like losing this at all because this interest in things is what made my life so happy..

Anyone have any experiences like this?

When I did get a bit unhappy I just went to see my girlfriend. She cheers me up.

There's always something to help you through your pain, you just got to find that something.

i have had 'clinincal' depression, but actually after reading a post here, i decided to say 'fuck you' to the medications, and its true - your mind is the most powerful thing when it comes to your happiness - and lifestyle. if you sit on your ass in front of the pc 18 hours a day never see the sun, never excercise, what do you expect?

I started off down that road when i was 19, been making the pharmaceutical assholes rich for 10+ years. EXCEPT FOR EXTREME CASES all this shit does is mask the problem, not to mention you cant get a nut on half these meds.

about a month ago i started weaning and ive been telling myself this is all bullshit, my brain has been bullshitting me - and i feel much better. when i feel the bad shit rolling around, i tell it to go get fucked. kind of hippy tree hugging shit, but i give less than a gorilla shit what anyone thinks about my pursuit of inner peace.

life is a shitstorm for everyone - i have been diagnosed by every shrink ive seen with the "seratonin and epinephrine (sp?) imbalance" ... fuck that shit. you gotta find the power in your mind to deal with shit, and also find the things you enjoy doing and do it.

its ez for me to say all this in hindsight. seriously depressed people (not "im lonely and wish i had a bootie call tonight") may need to take meds for a while - paxil did aleviate some of my symptoms ... but you can find the solution without the pills later and be free of the side effects - keep that in mind.

Anti-depressants are bullshit, either they are placebo effect-reliant snakeoil or they have undesirable effects such as slowly killing your entire spectrum of feelings as well as decreasing your creativity. Don't let them put you on a zombie prescription just for feeling a little lonely (like all humans feel, and ultimately are). The real cure is to find a friend or a girlfriend, or convince yourself that you don't need such things to begin with. You can find friends online if you aren't much on the outside world, but I think the best way to find people you can really bond with is to go to some sort of a social arrangement for a hobby or a sport you really like and then see if you can find someone of your approximate age and philosophy.

Feel free to hit me up on ICQ or MSN (or phone if you don't mind a thick Norwegian accent ) when you want to talk to someone. I enjoy conversations with people from all walks of life.

*As a side-note to would-be entrepeneurs, there could be a high potential in match-making for friendships (as opposed to dates). People value true friendship almost equally to romance, and I think relatively few of them ever find friends to whom they can bond on more than a superficial level in today's flat and hasty reality.
