The Star Wars trilogy box set.

I tried searching on starwars.com's board, but there was too much clutter to find out, but I was wondering if they are going to have the original movies on there, or those versions that they added the super lame CGI parts to?

Those extra effects they added in there really cheapened the whole thing.

I'm still gonna but it though, and I'm still gonna love it.

Schweet!!

I am pissed that they're shoving the cheesy versions down our throats, but what are ya gonna do?

I have a feeling that the dark master of merchandising, George Lucas, will be including the original versions in the big 7 dvd box set (all the movies 1-6, plus one of even more extra crap no one cares about) a little bit after the final installment, The Revenge of the Sith, is out.

The dvds contain even more changes than the '97 special editions had. Here's a comparison

THX-1138 is out with a bunch of new CGI thrown into it. I'm going to give it a shot, hope all the added stuff doesn't fuck it up too much.

George has made these versions even worse. I love Star Wars, but George keeps giving me more reasons to hate him.

Here's the change that pisses me off the most.

The end of Jedi, what's wrong with this picture?

WTF!

when the Force ghosts of Ben, Yoda and Anakin appear to Luke at the very end of the film, actor Sebastian Shaw has been replaced with Hayden Christensen (as he'll appear in Episode III). That's going to piss off a lot of fans, but it makes sense. Lucas' rational (as he actually explains briefly in the audio commentary - a rare instance where he comments on a change) is that when Vader joins the Force, he's able to retain his original identity as he was when he died as Anakin Skywalker (in Episode III). Since Yoda and Ben retained their good identities until they were old, that's how their Force ghosts appear. Yeah, maybe it's a stretch... but within the logic of the universe, it does make sense. Like it or not.

AP: Why not release both the originals and special editions on DVD?

Lucas: The special edition, that's the one I wanted out there. The other movie, it's on VHS, if anybody wants it. ... I'm not going to spend the, we're talking millions of dollars here, the money and the time to refurbish that, because to me, it doesn't really exist anymore. It's like this is the movie I wanted it to be, and I'm sorry you saw half a completed film and fell in love with it. But I want it to be the way I want it to be. I'm the one who has to take responsibility for it. I'm the one who has to have everybody throw rocks at me all the time, so at least if they're going to throw rocks at me, they're going to throw rocks at me for something I love rather than something I think is not very good, or at least something I think is not finished.

Someone needs to shove a carrot in the ass of the horse he rode in on and maybe it would toss him to the ground. He coould have easily made the extra shit its own chapter and those chapters skipped if you chose that version at the beginning. I'm gonna rip those fuckin discs and edit that 'special' shit out.

Well, if George is gonna ram the extras down out throats, at least he re-fixed the 'fixed' parts.

For instance, I remember when I saw the extra of Jabba the Hut, who was never originally seen in the first one, I almost shit. It was like someone had pulled a practical joke. At least they touched it up (again) to make Jabba look more like Jabba.

George is justifying the existence of P2P. I want my original Star Wars, not this retouched bullshit. Young Anakin ghost my ass!

In probably one of the biggest disappointments of the entire series (besides Jar-Jar) was the unmasking of Darth Vader.

Here you have one of the most infamous villians in movie history. He has a towering presence, the booming voice of James Earl Jones, and when we finally see him unmasked: We see Curley from the Three Stooges sucking on a harmonica!!

They're changing that scene as well. All they did was remove his eyebrows. Apparently, he's going to be burned in episode 3.
