i bought one about 3 years ago its good but over priced, but it is better than going to the gym and using all the other equipment, at least this way you don't get a nasty rash

yes. get it. worth every penny.

had mine for years, and when i needed replacement backboards, etc, they shipped it next day. great customer service. they recently had a recall, but it wasn't the new models, but the older ones that have the LAT tower (like mine) but they actually sent us a kit to make it stronger, so not a true recall. they are even letting me trade mine back in for $1,500 credit towards a new one if I want. amazing customer service. much better than the gym because you can work out at 3 am if you want. make sure to go to DICKS or Sports Authority to test out the cheaper model and compare it to the crossbow. but make sure to order it online and get the top of the line model.

good luck.

If you want a home exercise machine, it works well. Personally I bought it a while back, rarely used it, a pain in the ass to try to return it, and it's not as good as free weights.

If you don't mind spending the time to go to the gym, the equipment there is much better.

It's a solid machine; i think it's the only one out there that actually lives up to its hype. If you are low on time and can't make it to the local gym, then pick one up. The only thing is if you slack off don't blame it on the machine; the bowflex works. You have to put in the time though, and I mean months, 4-5 days a week.

No personal experience, but I've heard good things from many owners. They won't make you huge, but will keep you toned and in shape.

I noticed Costco just got the Bowflex Elite for $899.

They say do it for 20 minutes a day three times a week... A friend and I were talking about the bowflex one day, and I asked, "What would happen if you worked out for an hour a day, three times a week?".

True story.

If you're looking to be like the guy(s) on the adverts, I would say wrong machine.

If you want to buy it and with little/no work tone up/look better, I say wrong attitude.

If you are strapped for time, don't want to go to the gym and will commit to it, I think it may be a wise investment choice.

Myself, I would rather go to a gym.

Try one out before you buy...they're a lot different than other weight machines so they can be difficult to adjust to if you're used to more typical machines

If your problem is that half the time you want to work out you find its too late and your local gym is closed or it just plain sucks so you have no motivation to go, get one. But really its all about your personal dedication. You can lose weight and tone up without any machines, just eat right, do some jogging for cardio, and the rest you can make up using your body as the weight, such as pull ups, push ups, sit ups, etc.

Yeh, Sears sells that one I believe. I dunno, I'd say the Crossbow is at least worth a test run considering what a Bowflex costs.

It can't be THAT difficult to make a comparable machine.

They sure not how to market it, it's in pretty much all sports channels here, and on many sports websites.

Seriously, about 1.5 years. I played around for a couple of years previous. I won't count high school football though (a whoppin 10 years ago!), the coach had no clue what weight training should involve and I made squat for gains.
