Bowflex - Worht it or waste of money??
I'm considering getting one, but I am never one to believe all the hype and testimonials on websites...
Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with the bowflex??? |
i havent tried it but im guessing if you got it and stuck to it then it would work
|
Go to the gym instead....
|
I haven't really heard any really negative things about it. It's been out for years...

they've been around since 1986, i think they wouldve gone out of business by now if it didnt work, and there's money back guarantees to back it up
|
i bought one about 3 years ago its good but over priced, but it is better than going to the gym and using all the other equipment, at least this way you don't get a nasty rash :helpme
|
yes. get it. worth every penny.
had mine for years, and when i needed replacement backboards, etc, they shipped it next day. great customer service. they recently had a recall, but it wasn't the new models, but the older ones that have the LAT tower (like mine) but they actually sent us a kit to make it stronger, so not a true recall. they are even letting me trade mine back in for $1,500 credit towards a new one if I want. amazing customer service. much better than the gym because you can work out at 3 am if you want. make sure to go to DICKS or Sports Authority to test out the cheaper model and compare it to the crossbow. but make sure to order it online and get the top of the line model. good luck. |
Thanks for the response guys...
Looks like nothing but good things to be said about it... Off to order now.. :thumbsup |
Dude, a TOTAL waste of money. Do NOT buy.
|
If you want to look like the guy in the infommercial, buy some d-bol and some winny, then get a membership at a health club. :2 cents:
|
I don't have one but a freind does and he loves it...he's gone to gyms and is in good shape...the only thing is you have to use it...i can't work out in my house i have to go to the gym or i just don't do it
|
If you want a home exercise machine, it works well. Personally I bought it a while back, rarely used it, a pain in the ass to try to return it, and it's not as good as free weights.
If you don't mind spending the time to go to the gym, the equipment there is much better. |
Shit for 3500 Canadian..I'll just get a membership
|
ive got one and love it, its got my :thumbsup
|
It's a solid machine; i think it's the only one out there that actually lives up to its hype. If you are low on time and can't make it to the local gym, then pick one up. The only thing is if you slack off don't blame it on the machine; the bowflex works. You have to put in the time though, and I mean months, 4-5 days a week.
|
i love them

No personal experience, but I've heard good things from many owners. They won't make you huge, but will keep you toned and in shape.
I noticed Costco just got the Bowflex Elite for $899. |
its really good for webmasters, you dont have to leave the house.. :thumbsup
|
Yeah would be big waste of money if you order it and use it less than 10 times :1orglaugh I know lot's that spend big money on machines and they end up collecting dust

you just gave me an idea. i'll check bowflex too..
|
They say do it for 20 minutes a day three times a week... A friend and I were talking about the bowflex one day, and I asked, "What would happen if you worked out for an hour a day, three times a week?".
True story. |

Get a crossbow instead....same thing really but about 1/3 of the price.

If you want to buy it and with little/no work tone up/look better, I say wrong attitude. If you are strapped for time, don't want to go to the gym and will commit to it, I think it may be a wise investment choice. Myself, I would rather go to a gym. |
really interesting... i'd really check that out asap.
|
Try one out before you buy...they're a lot different than other weight machines so they can be difficult to adjust to if you're used to more typical machines

You just need to use a turkey baster sized syringe full of veterenary steroids every day :thumbsup |
If your problem is that half the time you want to work out you find its too late and your local gym is closed or it just plain sucks so you have no motivation to go, get one. But really its all about your personal dedication. You can lose weight and tone up without any machines, just eat right, do some jogging for cardio, and the rest you can make up using your body as the weight, such as pull ups, push ups, sit ups, etc.

It can't be THAT difficult to make a comparable machine. |

BTW, the Bowflex is the most successful infomercial ever produced and is still selling strong today. There must be something about it people like!

They sure not how to market it, it's in pretty much all sports channels here, and on many sports websites. |

Almost forgot, I lift 4 days a week barring life complications.
|
free weights all the way.....if you use machines and then try free weights youll be sorely dissapointed in what you can do
|
waste of money for sure... get yourself a bench and some free weights.:thumbsup
|
We have one and like it. Never a problem with breakage or anything (it's been years now).
But personal preference is actually free weights. Dumbells specifically. |
