I'm happy seeing lots of people working what you call "dead end jobs."

It is those people who need porn to liven up their lives, not to mention the fact that if everyone were thinking like us then every twit and his dog would be running pay sites, free sites, doing design, writing, posting their foolishness on GFY etc etc et-fucking-cetera.

These "idiots with no dreams and no lives" as you brainiacs are calling them are surfers. Last time I checked we need more of them.

BTW....Those retail sales jobs that I had paid me a base salary plus commissions. My commissions alone gave me close to a 6 figure income for 2 of those jobs.

One of them was at a chain of national electronic stores....Similar to what you would find in the TV department at Sears.

Human beings are communal creatures, a condition which is only sustainable if the majority are content to be followers.

Even if we were not genetically programmed this way, imagine the chaos if everyone refused to do the mundane, even unpleasant jobs. Society needs ditch diggers more than it needs entrepreneurs.

At least you hinted that there were other values in life. For example, none of my father's pleasures in life had any connection with his work. Although he was a successful lawyer, he had very little ambition and didn't much enjoy his job. He left all thoughts of the office behind when he left each evening. But he was active in all sorts of areas from politics to gardening and who is to say he should have made other choices?

Nothing in my 30 minute conversation with him gave me the idea that he owned his own business, or even had plans to one day open his own business.

He knew a lot about TV's, and that was it. But you never know -- he could be networking for his pyramid...

I will put it this way, and maybe you can understand.

When you move out of mommy and daddies house, and have to make ends meet...then comeback and comment. See, right now you have all the time to do whatever you want...you can fail, and still have a house to live under and food to eat. Someone that has to make ends meet themselves and/or has a family to support doesn't have that luxury all the time.

Ahhh..to be an ignorant youngster again.

hahah didnt u post a pic of someone elses ferrari...

you should put a fucking bullet in your head.

you dont know that guys situation and to make a comment like that makes you sound like a complete dumbass.

like aaron said he could be using that bullshit job as a means of gathering prospects or downlines for an MLM or some shit.

or he could be a webmaster or hustling or something else making a killing and keeping that side job for the benefits.

why would u make such a stupid comment about someone like that?

I honestly don't believe this guy is having a blast making ends meet for his family. I believe that he is struggling very hard to bring in a paycheck.

Afterall, this person works for each paycheck. What happens if he is unable to work for a month? Sure, he'll get his two weeks of sick-pay, but after that? His family is left in the cold...

He is not doing what's best for his family. Sure, he's trying to make them money, but is he trying hard enough?

If he was making good enough money hustling or webmastering then I'm sure he could afford his own benefits..

So you do live with mommy and daddy still. As I said, you have no room to talk yet then.

Do you realize unfortunately most that support a family don't have a blast doing what they are doing? Is he supposed to quit his job and go back to school? How will his family survive?

Your comeback was a complete contradiction.

That's what I was going to say. I knew a guy working the night shift at Timmies while working on his dentistry license or whatever it's called during the days. He came from another country and his license wasn't valid here, so he had to go back to school...

No i don't live with 'mommy and daddy'...and after a certain age, you call them Mom and Dad, or mother and father..mommy and daddy is what children use.

He should have made an effort to achieve something before he turned 45 and started a family.

It's not fun for your kids to grow up in a household that is poor because of a selfish decision your parents make.

Does this have ANYTHING to do with this sales person at Sears? He is not making 21 bil a year. He is not making the effort.

Ok, maybe I was a little harsh in my post in calling them dead end jobs. I do have respect for people that work jobs like this, I guess I just can't ever imagine myself doing something like that - not that there is anything wrong with it. Its just not for me

That has everything to do with what you said.

..my point about education is this: A person with a degree is more likely to be successfull in the long run compared to a high school graduate.

Through this logic no one without a degree should be that rich.

Because Sears will happily pay his tuition if he decided to go to College. That is one of the benefits that he recieves.

He has the choice.

Losing an argument on the internet = shameful

Changing his stance on things to try and win = retarted

Using "this is gfy" as an excuse for the idiotic things he says = PRICELESS!

What do you get with your little ref code?
It doesn't matter how much either one of us make on our sigs. Just because you get paid a big sum of money doesn't mean that your sig 'whorness' is justified.

They way you said it seemed like it's a bad thing to sell your sig.

America, where oppurtunities are at every corner, should not be wasted or overlooked.
Before you make such highly critical statements, regarding one's education, please ATLEAST appear as if you've got an education of your own.

What are these "oppurtunies" you speak of?

Idiot.

God you are ignorant.

People lose everything sometimes. But they still have a family to support.

When I was growing up my oldest brothers friend had an uncle who worked 3 full-time jobs to support his family. They still lived in Mexico and he sent almost all the money back to them. He slept maybe 3 hours a day, on a good day. At that point, I respect that man more than anyone else I had ever met in my life.

And just because the Sears guy is trying to sell you a TV does not mean that he makes less than you.

Go to bed, kid.

Maybe he lost his his life savings in an investment. Maybe he tried his own company and it failed. Even the smart, most intelligent lose everything in investments sometimes...or fail in starting a company. Happens every day.

So you have no place to talk.

Word of advice. Just stop while you are behind.
Or maybe he just loves selling TVs!

You forgot to tell him to have mommy tuck him in and read him a bedtime story.

My entire point of this thread was that if you're going to work for someone for ten + years, make something out of it instead of always taking shit from managers who keep changing every five years.
I started out as a janitor. I was always in the electronics area playing with the nifty gadgets and watching tv during my breaks and after my shifts were over. I started learning more about the products and later asked my manager if I could try working as a salesman on a probationary status. My english had improved a bit since I came to the US and my manager was nice enough to give me a chance. Now I am one of the top salesmen in our region and I owe it all to my former manager for giving me a chance. Thank you Mr. Salabadad

If he enjoys what he has been doing for the last ten years, then more power to him. I rest my case. Reading all of your replies has shined some light on my ignorant views.

But if he started that job with the mindset of NEVER climbing the ladder at Sears, then I don't see what the point of it was.

He can make money at any job, but if he is oging to dedicate ten years of his life and know everything to know about what he does, then he should at least try for a promotion and make a few extra bucks.

Why do you think this guy just gave up and chose a meaningless life? Holy fuck you are a complete idiot. Typical of your demographic though. Ever thought that maybe he is using this job to fund a comeback? Even thought he got laid off from a big corporation that he worked at for 25 years and now nobody will hire him or take him seriously because of his age except for Sears? Not everyone with "lesser" lives than yours chose the path they took. A lot of the times one's experiences just lead up to where they are.

I was a fucking janitor for almost 4 years. Are you going to say that I just gave up and quit and chose a lesser life?

If so, I got fucking news for you asshole
I had huge anxiety issues and could not deal with the public due to a pretty bad stuttering problem. I was not be able to go into classrooms without anxiety attacks and social phobia due to the fear of having to communicate and be ridiculed at one point. I left school as an outcast due to my anxiety and was jobless for a few years. Now that I am over that shit and found ways to deal with it I had to start from rock bottom cleaning and earning a living to work my way up the financial ladder and gain experience working. I then got into adult and am loving it. I have set goals, ideas and a long term plan to make myself independent financially. Right now I am working for someone else doing mostly grunt work that most of you would have no idea how to do and are too damn lazy to do. I don't think that I "gave up" or have a "lesser life" for doing so.
Ever thought that maybe this Sears salesman has had similar experiences to this? maybe he fell off a ladder and is working his way back up.

You are an absolute ignorant prick. People like you are the reason people need thick skin and the reason people working in "lesser" jobs are grumpy and down on themselves.
