Some of you will probably know this, but for those who do not, you may find this of use.

Most banks in the UK will charge for you putting USA checks in. But to reduce charges its best to pay several checks in together as (you will need to check this with your bank) they will just charge for the one deposit on all the checks rather than on each check (i.e. you could pay in 5 at one point and only get charged say £6 on the whole lot).

Just make sure the checks do not go out of date. I think with use checks its about 180 days. So one suggestion is to pay your checks in every other month. I.e., put them into a box and pay them to your bank every second month on the first Monday.

Of course if you are getting large amounts, often its cheaper and quicker to wire the cash direct to your bank. Most affiliates will not charge if your amount is $500 or more. Even then the charge is about $30 (£15), which may still be worth it as you do not need to pay bank charges and the money is direct.

Its worth checking with your bank.

It may also be worth a someone who runs a UK webmaster site to do a check on what banks are best for adult webmasters who deal with USA and other currencies, as I am sure some banks are better than others.

I get charged £7 for each and every cheque i put in.

When i put in 4 or 5 cheques at a time, i asked them shouldn't there be only one charge. The fuckers said no, they have to charge that for every one...

Natwest charge me £13.60 for each cheque I cash in.. but what peeved me off is that i've got a $145 bill on my payment slip for 'remitting bank charges' now I don't know who the fuck i'm suppose to call, the affiliate or the bank.

HSBC charge £6 for 1 cheque and £4 each on multiple. If you're regular sometimes they discount even more

I use NatWest and asked them when I paid in 3 checks if I would be charged for each one or just a single charge.

I was told just one charge. I have just a standered account.

I will have to see if I get charged 3 times or not. If I do, I will not be please.

This is exactly the reason I switched to Epassporte much easier and much faster.
We got the same rules in Denmark and its simply to expensive to cash a $50 or $100 check.

Thats what I was thinking.. and its funny, cause the aff program stopped responding to me when I mentioned bounced cheque.

Yes, I was told that they have to send the checks to the US bank, just as in the UK. Say I paid you a check for £50. Your account may be Natest, but my bank is Midlands. Natwest send Midlands the check and they then send the cash to natwest (or something like that).

As such the cost to pay a USA check into your account should be no more than a UK check, except for the cost of postage. That is unless USA banks charge UK banks for doing this. I wonder if I send a check to the USA if USA banks charge for providing this service.
