CC Processors
Hi all,
I'm looking for a decent card/check processor that doesn't require a merchant account. CCBill & Ibill are becoming too restrictive, Globill doesn't look professional enough, and Verotel is trying to charge $15 extra on top of each chargeback! If you would recommend any please let me know. Thanks. Scotty. |

Steer clear of SunBill, those fucknuts knowingly provide billing for child porn sites. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in on it all - like that keyz.com Landslide Inc. bullshit. |

What does it cost? There is a 1 time only set up fee of $49.00 for approved accounts. 2CheckOut collects a 5.5% commission on each sale plus a $0.45 charge per transaction. There are no leases, no monthly fees, no application fees, and no statement fees!! so go ahead signup at http://www.2checkout.com/cgi-bin/aff.2c?affid=13003 ![]() |

X-Web -
Are you using them for your adult sites, or has anyone ever used them for adult stuff. I see the website say's that they do adult stuff but I wasn't sure if that was for hard goods, or if website subscriptions counted also ?? Thanks. Tim |

Whatever company you choose you better make sure they will be around for a while. Its better to go with a company like Ccbill or Ibill although they may or may not have more restrictions. Anyone who has used Digiblaze or Sypro would know what I am talking about.

In regards to processors being around for a while, that's the problem. You NEVER know who will be around in the future.
I dont know how long eveyone here has been in the business, but if you remember years back, there was the DMR issue. (Was AP involved with that mess?) DMR was the biggest and the most solid. Plus they had a great reputation. Then one day, they left taking millions of dollars of paysites money. I'm going to move from WNU (Epoch) to Ibill or CCbill soon, since there latest issues of late payments. But even though CCBill and Ibill's been around for a while, NOTHING is gauranteed. After the DMR thing, i still find it hard to sleep at night wondering if the processor i'm with is going to walk off and fold. That's the only thing about this business that's really tough to deal with. Nothing is secure and safe when your dealing with 3rd party processing. All you can do is pick the one with the best history and cross your fingers....either that or spread your money through a few processors. Even though i'll be with ibill or CCbill soon, i'll still find it hard to sleep at night. just my 1/2 a cent |

Well since you're talking about CCBill I'll stick my .02 in here.
There certainly isn't any guarantee that a processor will be around forever, nor is there any guarantee that net porn will be in its current form either. When you're looking for a processor (and a backup, I would definitely recommend having two if you own a paysite) -- the ones with the most restrictions are probably the safest ones to go with. Reason being is that if the processor is following the Mastercard/VISA rules to the letter they are going to be restrictive, but they are also a whole lot less likely to get on the shit list with the cc's either. CC's care about one thing -- the bottom line. They don't hate adult, they hate the public outcry that comes from processing adult sites that are cheaters, scammers and credit card slammers. It's much easier for the general public to raise the hue and cry about porn than it is to complain because a book delivery from amazon.com was two days late. With the exception of AMEX, none of the companies we deal with -- MC, VISA, Discover, JCB -- have ever decided not to do business in adult, nor have they indicated any plans to that effect. Some of the upstream companies (the ones that process trans for companies like CCBill, IBill, etc) that have gotten out of adult side of things are coming back in now that they see that chargebacks can and are being controlled. They aren't coming back to everyone, they are being very careful in selecting merchants to work with that fit in their guidelines. Both MC and Visa have recently lowered their chargeback thresholds as well, not good but certainly a livable situation which probably doesn't affect the way many reputable companies currently scrub. So the sky's not falling, just a few clouds passing on the horizon. Just a little fyi... |

DMR was solid?? hahahaha. I was with DMR and left them shortly before they folded, they were not a company that was very well put together. They updated their contracts at one point, but never updated mine and never put a clause in my original contract stating that I had to agree to new additions to the contract. So when I started using another processor and put DMR as my secondary, they closed my account. Then discovered that MY contract didn't allow for that and had to reopen it. I stopped using them altogether after that and they folded a few months later. I sort of lucked out on that and didn't lose too much revenue as a result.
CCBill is what I've used since, as far as I can tell, they are far less "restrictive" scrubbing wise then IBill is and given the things they have managed to survive without being shut down they are as stable a choice as you can hope for imho. ------------------ ----------------------- Free hosting tgp posting allowed at http://www.pornouniverse.net |
