Band.com for sale

Band.com domain for sale!

Just acquired from long time owner, so haven't confirmed stats yet, but a reported 200+ a day, all type-ins.

Buy it now is $25k. Deal will be done through escrow.com

Won't consider any offer under $15k (have two offers in that range already), and am looking for only one person at $25k, so if you have interest, let me know asap!

Also posting on other boards simultaneously.

Offers via email at innovationhq @ gmail.com

That seams like it should be a good name but I'm having a hard time thinking of what I would do with it.

thats a serious domain. hell an unknown band could damn near pull a record deal out of a domain like that if they had decent talent. hope the sale goes well.

An unkown band wouldn't have 25,000. it's a chicken and the egg thing.

I know a few local bands here in georgia that are widely unknown who have spent that on gear, studio time, etc..working towards a record deal. your right, the majority of them would not, but there are a few around who could probably afford it and would do well to try and grab it. hell a decent studio looking to rep them could more than likely afford it and then pick the band they wanted to launch with it. Sometimes its not about the money you have, but the money others are willing to invest in you, you said it yourself, "I invest in smart people with great ideas". Others often do the same.

Actually, if you look at the more than 48 million references to "band" in Google, a huge proportion of them are individual band sites. Not my bag to develop, but even if you created a master site of indie bands with sub domains (megaband.band.com etc) you could have something wicked.

"Go to band.com to find your favourite band!"

Then you could take a cut of the sales, either MP3's or the actual CD's/merch etc. 10,000/50,000 indie bands, all consolidated under one roof.

Not my thing to develop, but lots of opportunity here.

great name.

$15k bid here. probably worth more if i could figure out
what to use it for.

ppc on it won't make much, but maybe as a fan site for
bands or forum or something.

good luck with the sale, icq me if you want to sell for that
price.

Thanks AVM. Still lots of active bidding, no longer at $23k

Low.com just went $33k, and refurbished.com for $32k.

Nice.

Obviously I underpriced band.com

It's a good idea though, imagine a band (or a record company) buying the domain, calling the group "Band.com" and putting up a site with a very high entertainment/viral potential. This would certainly give a new band a marketing edge

then don't sell it for that price.

band.com is a great domain with huge potential (even though some people will think it's banned.com). But why are you selling yourself so short? you always come to my threads just to question my bizmodel & credibility... because I tell people some names can reel in 6-7+ figures if marketed properly. Just because you haven't done it, you think its impossible. now I have to question your logic. why are you marketing BAND.com on gfy? for a quick flip? why aren't you approaching TARGETED suitors? don't you realize that with a name like this, you don't need to factor in ppc, over & google results? lol. you are the only one responsible for limiting yourself. I'm not your worst enemy, you are! next time you critique my business model, I will know it's because you are blind.

and do you truly believe gray.com is lousy? seriously? are you insane? are you aware of how many people/cities/companies are named "Gray"? $30k was a STEAL. it's like the company bought it for FREE. the company who bought it would have paid over 7 figures easily. that's a 7fig name if the seller did the proper research. http://www.gray.com don't you think this company has a bit more than $30k to invest in their brand? stll think gray.com is a lousy domain? lol. not to mention its a VC term and great for a Seniors site. And if anyone thinks I'm here to hate, far from it, AVM and Dombuyer love to come crap in my domain threads because I'm networking and sharing domain advice and they hate that I might be creating competition for them. I respect their portfolios, but that's about it. also-rans. fyi, I got offered MORE for a name I just acquired (SparklingWine.com), and I know Band.com is worth much more than you're asking. anyone who gets band.com at this price should be ecstatic. the new owners are welcome to contact me, email (sig) or visit: (http://DomainIncubator.com) and I'll show them how to maximize this domain. and dombuyer, be happy, you'll definitely sell it. if you ever want to sell "robot.com" for that price, let me know.

Taboo, you have a funny way of irritating people who you're making a pitch to.

I'm not buying what you're not selling, if you get my drift.

Thanks to all who bid.

Many more good names where band.com came from.

If you want to be on my advance list for my next sale, drop me a note. If you're precleared, I'll shoot it to you first. All this public bidding stuff is way too much work
