Actually, if you look at the more than 48 million references to "band" in Google, a huge proportion of them are individual band sites. Not my bag to develop, but even if you created a master site of indie bands with sub domains (megaband.band.com etc) you could have something wicked.
"Go to band.com to find your favourite band!"
Then you could take a cut of the sales, either MP3's or the actual CD's/merch etc. 10,000/50,000 indie bands, all consolidated under one roof.
Not my thing to develop, but lots of opportunity here.
