Average rebills per member??

Hey everybody who owns paysites,

What is your average rebill length per member/per converted trial? Just trying to get a consensus of what other people think...

I think the days of getting a response to any business oriented question on GFY are long gone... thought I'd give it a shot though

For us averages 4 months.
Happy now?

Now this is not true of all sites in our network or true of many members. It is purely an average across the sites.

What pricing gives you 4 months average?

This is per CONVERTED member or if you don't have a trial just how many total rebills including the first month...

I averaged across sites with different pricing models, and then each of those also has different price points.

I can say this.
Generally if I phase out trials after a site reaches a certain active rebilling member number.
Often my trials are 9.95 for 2 days and 24.95 for 30 days.
Nearly all of my sites are close between 24.95 to 29.95 per month.

I must of missed it. Or I was in a bad mood. Sharing base info that is not to secretive I have no issue with. Hell my affiliates could come up with these numbers to a degree if they did the math.

Why not share your own numbers Donnie?

Also, if someone has a spreadsheet I can plug the sales/rebill numbers into I could give you an answer for all the sites I promote.

well.. another question is how many years does it take for a program/site to be able to figure this out... 2-3 years until the vast majority stop rebilling..? You can always try to figure this out with graphs and try to find a pattern.. but too lazy...

I meant a blank spreadsheet man, I don't care how many sales you're doing.

I just don't have the "formula" so to speak to figure out what average retention is on the sites I promote, I just have raw sales and rebill numbers.

Ahh ok that makes more sense.

To show my sheer stupidity. Fiancee deals with the basic accounting, spreadsheets, etc. She attended college for that sort of thing.

for us it;'s hard to give an accurate answer only because our sites haven't been around long enough with all of the features in place that are improving the retention (example, members joining the last couple months have been retaining better than those who first hit the sites 5-6-7 months ago due to new retention features, playing with pricing points, etc.

Ours also vary depending upon if they were sent to the trial option (which doesn't give full site access) and what they were promised on the site that sent them (someone telling a surfer he'd find a lot of hardcore action on our big tit site won't have near the conversions as that of the surfer who is a true breast fetishist).

Donnie, if you make it out to the gathering tomorrow night, we can discuss it more ;-))

Very true. Stuff here is also constantly evolving and we do not have as much hard long term data as a paysite that has been up 3+ years.

I'll give my #'s... 3 rebills per converted trial or 3 rebills per initial monthly.. this is after 18 months of real data to look at.. before this we didn't really track it too much... pricing point doesn't seem to affect this from what I can tell.. something drastically cheaper like $9.95/monthly will give an extra month or two but big deal when it's so cheap..

Do you have a formula you use to figure this out or are these the numbers the processor gives you?

Our processing is in house (except back-up) .. we just have it coded into our stats system to record member activity for members by the date they joined so we basically just go back and look at the aggregate total for like say January '03 and we can see the total transactions (Rebills/conversions/initial monthly, etc) and divide the transactions by the # of new members we had in January, etc.... I wouldn't know how to figure it out manually really.. I guess you would just add up all the sign ups you got for a certain month and figure out how many rebills you got from those particular sign ups if you could figure it out..

I've tried figuring it out manually and never could, real pain in the ass.

Best I can come up with is trial conversion % and monthly retention %.
Then try to project those percentages out over 6 months or so to get an idea......like I said, real pain in the ass.
