They both seem to be legit....number 1 there has been consistently in the top 5 for 17 months now. We've monitored his patterns, conversions and chargebacks and nothing fishy...luckily :winkwink:

You mean that the top affiliates don't make that much? I agree. I thought I maybe read it wrong. The 6.5K is MONTHLY? or weekly/daily?

Or that your city might be listed in the future? I always liked the ARS WM rank. But after all changes, suddenly I was top 10 lol

Really awesome that programs are willing to show their success.

Next step would be to know / place a category for where the traffic / signups are coming from; mailers or website, etc.

Kudos to Iwantu.com and Lightspeed Cash! :)

On IwantU, we ask our affiliates to send us most of their traffic, but we know that almost no affiliates will send all their traffic like years ago.

I send traffic to 200 + sponsors. Some get 50 clicks a month. Some get several hundred thousand.

I'd like to see top 100 for TCG, ND, TB, SIC, SC, and PlB :)

That actually a great idea :thumbsup

I'm very surprised though that most other programs don't seem to offer a top100...it's not like it's hard to implement :1orglaugh

Guess not.....that doesn't look too good for them. :2 cents:

I would have expected more than just Lightspeed to step up though.

Forkbeard 08-24-2004 11:21 AM

I was fascinated to see the Lightspeed list when it popped up on their site the other day. Like others, I thought there would be a few more peeps in the above-$1k crew. Steve, please don't take that badly -- it just means your marketing-to-potential-affiliates is working. I look at that list and I see opportunity. "What? If that's all the affiliate promotion those awesome sites are getting, there's still room for me!"

However, I'm not suprised at how few big sponsors publish a similar list. Such lists offer strong hints at gross revenues (although only hints, given the many other streams of revenue a paysite owner is likely to have) and there are lots of good business reasons for a business owner to prefer to keep that sort of info under his hat.

2HousePlague 08-24-2004 11:28 AM

Why believe what the sponsors tell you, when there are MANY, MANY impartial voices in the marketplace that will tell you who's number one?

For example:

I wouldn't consider that spam, since I'm not even sure who the person is that posted that!

And to back up my sponsor page, I would like to point out that there are three sponsors on that list that don't have referral links:

Bang Bros
Purvebucks
Dollarmachine

Those rankings are taken straight from StatsRemote. No doctoring involved.

So wait -- what you're saying is a 3rd party Webmaster with lots of experience and DATA promoting many different programs is somehow LESS impartial than the sponsor himself? That's absurd.

And personally, I can't think of anybody out there who:

1. Knows what they're talking about, when they talk about program conversions,

AND

2. Would be foolish enough to send ANYBODY traffic without a ref-code.

Most GFYers have somebody's ref-code in their sigs. It's the way endorsements are made here. It's the way GFY personas associate themsleves with the sponsors who've done well by them. Hoes.com is doing that AND substantiating it with stats. The ethics of that look pretty sound to me.

Same here, I'd hate to compare the top 5 on TCG with some of these lists. Granted these are revshare webmasters so they make their money over time compared to what we do.

Good point. Our PPS program is new, but by Sept or Oct we should have some numbers to show for that.

In the cases of both Lightspeed and myself...if we were to lie, wouldn't we post higher numbers ?? :1orglaugh

Also, our page is live so if you sit there all day refreshing you'll see numbers change realistically. Would be lots of work to do that all for the sake of showing fake numbers don't you think?

Then again, maybe you guys don't have much else to do over there :2 cents:

MrJackMeHoff 08-24-2004 02:01 PM

This cant be right I must be #1 on every program.

Oooh... defensive. I was speaking in general terms -- not about any of the responding sponsors, in particular, or about (Iwant) U.

You gotta think though...most programs have 200 or more webmasters pulling in only $100-200 per month...on top of the guys that pull in the real numbers

VeriSexy 08-24-2004 04:04 PM

Hmm, two of the top 3 are from China. Your sites convert well with Chinese traffic :Graucho

We've just added an option in our stats for affiliates to chose to screen their location from the top100 list. I can understand why some people would have privacy concerns.

Our numbers are honest. We never said we were #1, and we aren't supported by large mailers or other large sponsors --- but I'm not complaining about any of that. I'm very happy having several hundred affiliates sending one or more joins every day.

I'd much rather be in that position than depending on a few select webmasters for my core business. The more spread out the safer for long term business. :thumbsup

Exactly our thoughts as well. Better to have 30 $1000 affiliates than 1 $30K affiliate :thumbsup

Doctor Dre 08-24-2004 04:19 PM

To be in top 5 with ars you had to send like 2-2.5k ... DAILY ...

Get your affiliates to add our mobile movie theatre with 1000"s of full-lenght movies to thier members area and we will work you a deal. They can be in the VOD businuss and promote thousands of our movies in just 5 minutes without even leaving thier site.

you really need to see what i'm talking about.

You can add a traveling theatre to all your affiliates instantly and we will work you in.

Wanna talk?
