:mad Eroticafest...........wacked,,,,

When you hire someone to produce a webmaster show you need to make sure they know what they are doing. Lisa fucked up the top bucks party last year now she had a real nightmare ths year at Eroticafest.

Cant get into a club, Real porn stars asked to do shows and appearances for free not allowed. The owner of the club telling the real porn girls and Ron Jeromey to get their scummy asses out of his club.

ANd the girl who set all this up to busy rolling to correct her mistakes.

And the poor guys who hired her to throw the party as well as all of us webmasters got fucked and not kissed by one person. The porn girls that were suposed to perfrom ALL OF THEM WILL BE AT THE BOOTH TODAY TO APPOLOGIZE THAT YOU COULDNT SEE THEM.And thats pretty cool since they came as a favor and got trashed not by their fault.

I was disappointed in the show and the VIP passes...
along with the distance from the westin!
we get there and kailey can't get in cause she's not 21..
the guys i'm with can't get in cause they aren't dressed properly...
and by the time we buy our way in..
it definitely wasn't worth it...

You should have just gotten a refund while you could. Maybe that's still an option. Satisfaction was guaranteed....110% no less.

It's impossible for somebody who haven't made 20-30 + small parties and slowly grew them to start doing big ones ... They WILL fuckup . There is always tons of last minute fuckup ...

The whole "club" and vip thing happened to one of our parties ...

We got fucked up by the bouncers and the administration here trusted us to run the club as they do close business with us . Anyways long story short, the bouncers asked 20 $ for 18-21 YO people and we made them stop doing that less then a month ago by telling the administration (It's not illegal in canada . 18yo is the legal drinking age) .

That was a MAJOR fuckup since the club was full by 9 (normally they get full by 12:30 - 1 am here).

Tons of VIPS got refused .

Shit happens ... but we had like 10k thrown into that party not 70k .

There are like 100000 more mistakes to do on a 70k $ party then on a 10k party ... If you don't have any REALLY REALLY REALLY good experience you shouldn't start big .

I'm sure Kbizzle will tell you the same thing.

You guys gotta be fucking kidding me.

-First of all Alien Ant Farm rocked the house
-The NWWL wrestling was off the hook, and unique.
-There were loads of smoking hot chicks ,instead of 80,000 retarded webmasters looking to shoot free content.
-We had no problem getting in, and everyone with us got laid. mainly because we have class and common sense.

But then again we are from NY, we don't show up at a club in southbeach in shorts, or late and drunk, and blame it on the event planners when we cannot get in.

I'm not saying it went without a hitch, I have quite a few issues with it, but Jesus!, what the fuck do you expect? It's easy to blame the planners of the event who worked their asses off to put together a party that was worth being at.

Definitely one of the better times we've had over the past few years at internext. Anyone who didn't like it should continue going to the sausage-fest, content freeloader parties that are usually thrown for internext.

dude, it sounds as though it was more of a problem for the peole that spent ad bucks and promoted the party more than the patrons....you don't see what goes on behind the scenes, and the people here do

You are totally fucking wrong on all of this ...

The only point beating all your arguments are : THE EVENT WAS FOR WEBMASTERS . Not crowd ...

The vip passes weren't accepted ? That's another major problem . You let him city people but you won't let in legit webmasters ? and you make them pay when they are VIP ?

Trust me ... if that happens to 10-20 people, and they got big mouths, you can hear about it for weeks.

If that happen to hundread of webmasters, they will just start hating the sponsors instead of the promoter . Since most of them don't know who is the promoter.

Anyways you CANNOT fuckup when you give VIP passes . And you cannot expect geeks that never go out to wear tight clothes .

Most webmasters have money to spend in thoses events, more then normal crowd.

A good rich party crowd makes 10x more money then a broke ass well dressed one .

And some kids that aren't from the business get in ...

Some kid that have less money then you .

How are you gonna react ? you waited on this even for a while and heard a lot about it.

This is just negative . You CANNOT fuckup like that . You gotta have somebody at the door who tells who can enter and who can't .

You gotta have a line for webmasters with VIP passes and one for the crowd if you get your party hyped .

Anyways I don't know what happened but if ONE single person with VIP passes complain about it, that's bad enough to hurt the reputation .

I have to say, throwing big events are hard to do. People will always complain about things outside of the party promoters control, not dressed right, security issues, etc.

I always wish Helmy and his crew for a successfull event and though I wasn't there, I'm sure it had lots of good things about it that aren't mentioned here.

But I can say, it takes years of experience and being hands on to pull off a great event.

Lot's of factors people don't always see has to happen. Making sure your audience gets in is the #1 priority and making sure sponsors are getting what is promised is also the main priority.

Anyway, hat's off to the Eroticafest people for their efforts. It's great for our industry to have people throw networking events, even if some aren't happy, it's a must have for trade shows.

And stay tuned for the return of the Players Ball 2005, January 6th.

Previous helmy events have been very fun with lots less hassles.

Almost everyone I've talked to around the show was very dissapointed with the way things turned out.

I'm sure the club owners had more to do with the way things turned bad than the promoters.

While I understand that things can go wrong, because they most certainly will, it is the responsibility of the promoters to work out all details ahead of time and ensure everyone working it and invited are on the same page, i.e. who gets in with what pass, who pays, what dress is expected/required and what goes on. Sorry to hear of the issues surrounding this event and hope for all involved that this can be rectified and the next event will go more smoothly.

Guess what I was having a VIP pas also, I was dressed "clean" No shorts, khakis pants and a nice shirt, but I ve been turned back by the Fucker at the door cause I was wearing Sandals..

Man, my Merels cost more than the cheap shoes he was wearing and being form the north (canada) do you think I wear socks and closed shoes whan I go to FLORIDA in SUMMERTIME ???

AND, what is the difference between a man or woman wearing sandals (if they are clean of course)

I told the fucker at the door that girls were also wearing sandals and he replied me that "they are more pretty than me" , OK, but this is fucking sexism and discrmination...

Actually I don't think that the problem is with Lisa, or Helmy/Xbiz... It was the club owners who should have understood what a private party is and instruct THEIR Staff accordingly...

Actually as you all know, we are puting together the Best Adult Awards Ceremony and yes it is a private party. Of course we'd like to have everyone thight dressed for the ceremony, but we know we are dealing with Webmasters and some will show up clothed like they are everyday.

But WE DO OWN the place for this night, so if WE decide that everyone will get in, the place Owner and Boucer have not a word to say about this...

On a side note tho, this should have been specified on the party info, (ex " no shorts, snikkers, baseball hats, sandals...) Sometimes just a "dress code enforced" is enough....

Well said. With publishing the magazine in Philly we promoted and smaller vip events as well as large capacity parties/events. It is not for amatuers to get into this field for sure. I know we learned a lot even though we alread had backgrounds in this ourselves.

As a party organizer you have to remember who your clients are....First....your sponsors....they paid the money to make the event happen.....you better make sure they are happy....if you give them vip's to give to their key clients...you better make sure those vip's are treated with respect, allow them to skip the line, give them real vip status.......was there a private vip section/ bottle service, etc for them?

One thing we learn along the way in doing parties....we handle the door...not the club. If you allow the club to handle the door...this shit happens....bouncers will fuck your party up everytime....they want to make bank, and they know...with no one looking over their shoulder...they control the house that night. They hook up their friends and regulars, etc....fuck that....that means that the sponsors paid for their drinks....and who the fuck are they??? Not webmasters! Trust me...been there....done that shit. You gotta control the door!

There is so much more, but it sounds like this was one of the main points of complaints from the party.

Sad thing is that if half of Miami locals filled the room, and real webmasters were turned away...it doesn't matter how good things were inside...the purpose of the party from the sponsors standpoint was a bust.

One thing we learned....you are only as good as your last party....if you fuck up once...sponsors will never come back to you again. Sounds like this was a major fuckup on many parts....

I thought I saw some pre-drama and not here is post drama....I don't get it.

As far as dress code....it is a webmaster event...it is florida.....I think without anything being said...you easily assume you can do anything as "resort wear" Dress code conditions should always been addressed on all passes and any advertising/promotions.....very bad to have people show up and get turned away. That leaves worse than a bad taste in your mouth.

What is even more sad is the couple of people that have posted they were turned away.....these are the people the sponsors really would have wanted in the party. These are some good quality people in the business. Sad it turned out that way though.

So true, you've got my vote for quote of the day! What you're wearing doesn't = what you're spending. It always amazes me when clubs, car dealers, etc don't realize this.

I dont buy that....

What i did before getting into this biz was run nightclubs and concerts in Hollywood/Beverly Hills/ Los Angeles for 15 years. I could have been much easier to take over a building that does not have an ongoing biz, so the price could have been much more flexable, the bouncers work for club and take direction from the top, they have no brains and do what they are told by managment, and that comes from the top.

For our industry and the money we have not to take over a place 100% is a fucking joke, it was embarrassing to have some muscle dick treat us and everyone else like shit was so very un cool. I feel sorry for sponsors that put money to bring a great time to everyone at show.

When planning function of this size, it takes someone who knows what the fuck they are doing, making this kind of massive mistake is just not good. Doing an event like this is something I can do in my sleep, and had this little feeling this was going to happen.

Good luck getting money back from club, slime balls run places like that, and just kiss the cash good bye, it was the person that signed the deal with the club, shame on them for doing it there in the first place, and not getting details straight with club, sad.

Why this show was not done in one of the ball rooms of the hotel? Christ we took over the entire hotel, why not? It would have cost a fraction of what it would have ending up being, everyone would have had fun, no stupid 45 min ride, etc etc etc......

It just looks like this was a case of piss poor planning by a group that really has no business planning events like this.

Does anyone think Lisa will be handling any more parties in the future?

I'm curious as to why this location? I wasn't there, but when you are taking over a club, what does it matter how busy it is normally? Why would you want to compete with an existing following the club has? Especially south beach, ack.
