I booked social burn to open up which rocked the house . Its a tough call to make . Like I say I go to mansion every weekend so it was no different thn usual for me . I had a table right on the floor and had drink tickets a few bottles of vodka waiting for us and we were rockin out . I just dont see why they didnt honor the passes though . I know a few of the security there which helps of course .

Seems to be a chronic problem. Went to Internext shows in FL 2002 and Vegas 2003. Got invites to all the parties I wanted to go too, some VIP too. What I found is that most were over booked and poorly organized. There are always exceptions like the boat pre-show party was fantastic in FL 2002. Had a VIP pass for the Players Ball Vegas and couldn?t get in. Looked like a mob scene. There were guys selling tickets in the hallway that had nothing to do with the sponsors or Internext. Gave up and was leaving, on the way out I brought the situation up to a rep from one of the sponsors. He said thank you by escorting me right in.

It seems like the sponsors might need a bit more experience on the events?? You have to have your own people on site and in control. Think I remember the same bitching for the last two shows.

Well, it's especially bad when you have a VIP status card and you can't even get in.

That's a serious fuck up that can be resolved after the 1st complaint. If the bouncers are idiots, the person responsible for the party should resolve the situation ASAP. It's their responsibility, not the guests.

It's VERY simple to throw a Private party at a popular club and not allow public in... all they need to do is put a few of their own ppl at the doors to overlook and make sure who is getting in and who's not. Just have some of your own ppl manage the front and bouncers.

Here's my experience at the party:

First, getting in. The asshole bouncer wouldn't allow my gf in cuz she didn't have ID, and wouldnt even accept cash. Finally I kept harassing him and told him 'Look, do I need to bring the band outside to talk to you?' and he just said 'ok, ok go in'.

Second, "VIP" access??? Paying 11$ per drink, and having to spend $500 minimum on two bottles in order to be allowed to keep your seat in the VIP section is ridiculous! Even after spending $600 on 2 bottles and one round of shots, they told us others wanted the table and we'd have ot buy more to stay. We left....

AAF was cool, so was Social Work or whatever their names were. NWWL was the biggest joke I've ever seen...my opinion is there was no nudity because at that hour they were letting in the general public

We left at 2:30 and went back to the hotel, jumped in the outside jacuzzi. Much better idea

PS: Thanks to Datinggold who hooked us up with the VIP passes, even though they didn't seem to actually bestow any VIP status. You guys definately seemed to get screwed on this deal......

Sounds to me like you are a VIP there on a regular basis so you had extra considerations.

For the first hour I was there, it was a blast. The place was empty and I could talk in the back room.

Then I danced on a platform for a while and had a great time.

When I got down off my go-go box, the place was so packed, I couldn't handle it. I felt bad for the people who showed up at (normal clubbing time) and had to deal with so much.

Most people that rode with me on the bus back never got into the event.

I just hope people don't get made at the sponsors and the XBiz/Giga team for attempting to throw a big event, it's a great thing to do for people that takes lot's of blood sweat and tears. After throwing an event, you look at the boards to get a measure of the party and no one measures their heart for trying. And boards aren't alway a good measure of the night. For the people that didn't get hassled, sounds like it was a blast.

It's tough to do in Miami. They try that upscale routine and long lines.

Anyway, I wasn't there, just wanted to give respect to the sponsors and promoters for doing something that most people would never be able to do, throw a big party in Miami on a Saturday night. At least it wasn't outside and rained out. I've had the rain issue twice and had big money performers play in front of a smaller webmaster crowd due to the move indoors. Miami is just a tough place to throw a party, period.

Actually I"ve heard Social Burn's music before, 2 or 3 of the songs they played were quite familar....was looking for themor AAF to come upstairs and drink, but guess they just hung out in the back...

Brad thats just how I do it . If im a sponser of a party Im going to get to the Venue early and make sure things get done right . I had my promotions guy at mansion at load in at 3pm . I showed up at 6pm . I throw huge parties all the time so I know how hectic shit can get . I walked around alot (just to see how people were doing) and everyone I saw upstairs seemed to be having a blast . I was there till 5am and I really dont think it was that bad of a party . My only suggestion is if your sponsor of party try and get to the venue before it opens so your all set up in your own area . Believe me me and Lisa were putting out fires all night with the bouncers etc...Wasnt an easy night but My guests were happy in the end and thats all that mattered to me .

Im sorry for jumping the gun and blaming the sponsors. The thing was such a big mess, it was hard to think with it being that fucked up, that some of the sponsors didnt use the whole deal to make money from the general public.

I know it costs money to throw an event. I cant imagine how much money the sponsors had to put in on the "limo" shuttle service.

I mean, It would be kind of a genius idea, to be able to have set it up so you could have profited from the event at the same time.

Ive heard alot of talk about how costly these "events" can be, and are they worth the business you would get from it.

You seem to be downplaying the whole thing to me.

YOUR guests where happy in the end? Thats all that mattered? How about your future business partners? Putting your name on something like that and then then telling us that "your" guests were happy in the end, kind of sounds shitty. You sponsored it, I showed up, I was your guest, and I was disgusted.

Once I got to the V.i.p section and they expect 500 dollars worth of wine for me to stay there I would have looked at them nuts and left. If I sponsored a event and my name was attached to something as this I would be upset also.

I was surprised to see them there, which was the highlight for me....

Still think your downplaying the whole thing. I think, if I was to put my name on it, I would make sure that everyone had a good time, not just my buddies and the people i gave my cellphone number to. It was the first time I had heard of real wild girls. I can only imagine the first impression you left on other potential clients.

I went to that party, and the people who set it up, actually made an effort to walk around and get to know the people who came to their shindig.

Sorry about the girls you hired for your booth to poor beer though. They were nice to the show attendees, but seemed like they had somekind of attitude towards the guys that were paying them to be there.

Im glad you liked social Burn . RWG has been around for awhile we are more Mainstream though . I sposered the party because RWG is about a series called backstage pass , that we do with rockers so it made sense for us . I would of loved to help accomodate everyone , but that wasnt my job . I was there basically for the backtage shit .

I brought 50 people in and had to make them feel comfortable . + Take care of both bands.

So Im glad the highlight of your night was social burn at least I stepped up to the plate and brought them in.
Im trying to get out of the Web, and didnt even go to the show .
And yes that was me on stage . I left When AAF started playing and started helping people out of the line and take them over to crobar instead . So I think all together I did my job .

It was the worst Internext event ever....

First, sure Miami might try the snob/exclusive approach but fuck most webmasters don't look too cool ya know

And second, people showed VIP passes and the bouncers told them to fuck off... I saw this one guy push Lensman back and say 'I told you once and won't tell you again...' when he tried to get in. He even showed him his VIP pass. The guy didn't care. They were denying people who were wearing NICE clothes just because they didn't have girls with them..

I got in right away but they wouldn't let anyone in my party in..

Third, it was so crowded with locals it was ridiculous. The bouncers were complete assholes on the inside and outside. If anyone takes up for this venue or this party they are fucking stupid. It was absolutely pathetic.

If I were a sponsor I swear I would sue it was so bad...

Vegas and Miami are 2 of the hardest cities to get an exclusive deal on a venue during the weekend.

I've heard from a few people they had a blast, so I'm sure maybe we're just hearing the bad before the good, it's early still. Did 5% of the webmasters get turned down? Or 80%? It's too early to get a measure yet. Most reasons sound like it's due to dressing in shorts and stuff.

When one of the sponsors get turned off ... that's a real fucking problem

The whole Idea at the Door is you can get in if you have 2 girls with you. They fuck with the ratio. Also we were supposed to film the event but the club wouldnt allow it . I will admit Stephen got us in just fine and took care of us, but our affiliates and VIP's are more important than us. The party is for the VIP's and ticket holders not the sponsors or general public fucking nobodys.

The asshole bouncer wouldn't allow my gf in cuz she didn't have ID, and wouldnt even accept cash. Finally I kept harassing him and told him 'Look, do I need to bring the band outside to talk to you?' and he just said 'ok, ok go in'. Second, "VIP" access??? Paying 11$ per drink, and having to spend $500 minimum on two bottles in order to be allowed to keep your seat in the VIP section is ridiculous! Even after spending $600 on 2 bottles and one round of shots, they told us others wanted the table and we'd have ot buy more to stay. We left.... AAF was cool, so was Social Work or whatever their names were. NWWL was the biggest joke I've ever seen...my opinion is there was no nudity because at that hour they were letting in the general public We left at 2:30 and went back to the hotel, jumped in the outside jacuzzi. Much better idea PS: Thanks to Datinggold who hooked us up with the VIP passes, even though they didn't seem to actually bestow any VIP status. I just hope people don't get made at the sponsors and the XBiz/Giga team for attempting to throw a big event, it's a great thing to do for people that takes lot's of blood sweat and tears. After throwing an event, you look at the boards to get a measure of the party and no one measures their heart for trying. And boards aren't alway a good measure of the night. For the people that didn't get hassled, sounds like it was a blast. It's tough to do in Miami. They try that upscale routine and long lines. Anyway, I wasn't there, just wanted to give respect to the sponsors and promoters for doing something that most people would never be able to do, throw a big party in Miami on a Saturday night. At least it wasn't outside and rained out. I've had the rain issue twice and had big money performers play in front of a smaller webmaster crowd due to the move indoors. If im a sponser of a party Im going to get to the Venue early and make sure things get done right . I had my promotions guy at mansion at load in at 3pm . I showed up at 6pm . I throw huge parties all the time so I know how hectic shit can get . I walked around alot (just to see how people were doing) and everyone I saw upstairs seemed to be having a blast . I was there till 5am and I really dont think it was that bad of a party . My only suggestion is if your sponsor of party try and get to the venue before it opens so your all set up in your own area . Sorry about the girls you hired for your booth to poor beer though. I sposered the party because RWG is about a series called backstage pass , that we do with rockers so it made sense for us . I would of loved to help accomodate everyone , but that wasnt my job . I was there basically for the backtage shit . I brought 50 people in and had to make them feel comfortable . + Take care of both bands. So Im glad the highlight of your night was social burn at least I stepped up to the plate and brought them in. Im trying to get out of the Web, and didnt even go to the show . And yes that was me on stage . I left When AAF started playing and started helping people out of the line and take them over to crobar instead . First, sure Miami might try the snob/exclusive approach but fuck most webmasters don't look too cool ya know And second, people showed VIP passes and the bouncers told them to fuck off... I saw this one guy push Lensman back and say 'I told you once and won't tell you again...' when he tried to get in. He even showed him his VIP pass. The guy didn't care. They were denying people who were wearing NICE clothes just because they didn't have girls with them.. I got in right away but they wouldn't let anyone in my party in.. Third, it was so crowded with locals it was ridiculous. The bouncers were complete assholes on the inside and outside. If anyone takes up for this venue or this party they are fucking stupid. It was absolutely pathetic. If I were a sponsor I swear I would sue it was so bad...
