What about a lambo?

BTW as far as reliability, I would go for the Porsche.

The turbo cab is probably the perfect car.But if you've never owned an F-car..you should probably give one a go.The F-car's of this generation aren't plagued with the problems of the older ones.Just be aware that the f-car services are costly. In some cities the 30k service will set you back nearly 8g.

btw, very interesting post ;)
thanks. and yes it happens alot with exotics and supercars. especially out clubbing. ppl lean against it and pretend it's their car while their friend takes a pic or they take their own. nowadays more than ever because of phonecams. i've seen ppl jump in convertibles real quick to snap a pic and jump out. in fact, i've seen ppl pissing in gas tanks while taking pic. lol. drunk sickos. great cars for driving around but don't leave them alone too long or you'll end up with it bumper stickered or keyed. My friend had a new S500 that got keyed HARD & DEEP right along driver side... not funny at all... but it happened while he was shopping at the dollar store... so i guess it is funny.

I forgot to mention that the bumper stickered exotic I saw read "OWN3D" lol. and i know the owner did not put it there because it was real lopsided and on the driver's door. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some crazy website out there that puts OWN3D on ppl's cars and takes pix. $250,000 exotic owned by a 25 cent sticker. lol.

Maybe a bit spartan though. Perhaps http://www.fast-autos.net/features/aero8/ would be the best of both worlds. "...driving down Wilshire Boulevard in the middle of Beverly Hills. I begin to realize that this car attracts a lot of attention". And if someone really wants to spend $300K there is always the racing version.

The Ferrari's are great cars...BUT
I had a nail in the tire of my 98 355 Spyder and after it was all said and done...3K...

They had to replace BOTH front tires..to the tune of 900 each...fix a belt...and a few other little tweaks....

So if you are ready to not only roll out the big bucks to buy it...be ready to MAINTAIN it!

if you want to be noticed..the porsche is no match for the Ferrari....period.

but there are a LOT of cars i would rather spend the bucks on.....

If you buy a used ferrari you will be ridiculed, there is this whole secret society, and one of the things is not ever buying a used ferrari, get yourself on the waiting list, dont buy used, even though they are way nicer then the porsche.

Get the Porsche. If you really want a ferrari get a 12 cyl. model. Nothing like that ripping canvas sound bouncing off the canyon walls.

I drive a 02 Porsche 911 C4 cabriolet as my daily driver, and have an older Ferrari 512 TR that I drive for fun..

If I had to chose between the two, I'd keep the Porsche, and dump the Ferrari...

Maintenance is a bitch, tune-ups every 3k miles, and major after 7500..

It EATS tires, which aren't cheap, but it is a fun car to drive...

Stick with the Porsche

You hit it on the head. What was once a definitive luxury item is commonplace. Also there are so many Boxsters on the road that Porsche's are ho-hum.

Near my place on Maui you can rent 911, Hummer Harley whatever so it's no big deal at all.

you only live once, and if you have millions invested + over 1 mill 'in the bank' why not rent a ferrari from one of those luxury rental places for a week and try it out. Would cost ya 5k or so I imagine, but at least you'd know if you liked the car.

Good idea?

In reference to a few posts above. There is nothing wrong at all with buying a pre-owned exotic sports car. Its actually a smarter way to go then paying retail on a brand new one and sometimes a premium on top of that.

Some of you guys are so into what people think. Fuck that bs.
A used $200,000 car is still 7 times the price of a regular new car.

Learn to be secure with your wealth and not have to flaunt it to prove who you are so much. Nobody cares trust me.

The bottom line is being a smart and shrewd buyer on everything you acquire when you are wealthy. Otherwise people will take advantage of you and you'll be overpaying like a shmuck.

the only vehicle i would buy that wasn't 4 years old would be a bike.

Ferrari turns more heads and gets more attention. Porsche is faster better performing and is more of a daily driver.

Depends what you are looking for.
