Most webmasters from Denmark don't respect our rules and therefore we have banned them from our clickpic programs. They think they should be paid, even when they cheat.

We have a bunch of Danish webmasters that have been in our programs for years and they can stay. It's the new ones that are not allowed.

Lensman - How many Danes do/did you actually have/had in your program ?

I am not sure why you let a couple of people ruin the reputation DK has (should have).

I don't have an account with you, nor do I need one, but it gets to me, that you 'box' all Danes in as being cheaters - well, new Danes that is.

I bet you only have/had like 10 or 20 people in your program from DK. Well the news is, we are more then 300 (that's at least what I know of). And only 3 - 5 had a problem with you.

I think it is low life to call all Danes for cheaters. We are not. I know a lot (about 35) DK porn webmasters who does not cheat in any way. I know these people personally. Do you ?

Ohh well - it's your choice I guess - I just don't like to be called a cheater, just because I am a Dane...and new with you, or my friends are...

You give me a great urge and desire to post some very nasty things at other sites, if you keep that up, and call Danes cheaters.

Some are GREAT. But that's just some.

On the the other hand, the webmasters from the Netherlands are great, almost all of them.

Cali, your pages look fine, but I wonder where your traffic originates from, since one page is a 404 page with our link on it and you have no signups in 2 months (but not a lot of traffic either).

I'm not taking sides here, but this is a very common practice. I'm suprised that AP has only banned Denmark.

Actually cheating is an integral and respected part of many cultures. Trickery is just an extension of a long tradition in the respect for battle strategy which has been around for thousands of years -- to some cultures, business is a form of battle -- and in battle there are no rules... I'm sure there are other cultural reasons for cheating. I really don't know anything about Denmark though -- I'm just making an observation.

I think most people from the USA don't realize this -- children from the time they are in elementary school here are brainwashed into following rules -- that's the way we do things here -- you are given rules or steps to follow -- you follow the steps and rules -- you get an evaluation of your ability to follow the rules in the form of a report card. That's all our education system does -- prepares us for the job market where we go to some building every day -- follow the rules of our employers -- and then get our evaluation.

I have a really great solution -- we can give all new webmasters a psychiatric test via a form. Many employers use these tests. Not only can you tell if someone will cheat -- but you can also tell ahead of time if they would love to kiss Jeanette's ass. Seriously though I think it could work -- you could compare the answers of successful webmasters w/ the non-productive, annoying, and cheating ones -- generate a formula -- and then apply the formula on each new webmaster. Hehe... you could even use the test that they gave the Unibomber -- I'm sure Lensman doesn't want mailbombs either ;)

Where did we as webmasters break with societie's norms? We full-timers work from home, on our own time, we make up our own rules and our own schedules, and thanks to great guys like Lensman who run programs that pay us on time every time, well, I actually consider myself to be retired from ever working an actual "job" again, ever. Retired at 38....hmmmm, 2 years sooner than the goal I set for myself over 7 years ago. Not too shabby.

The best part for me is being able to go potty whenever I damnwell feel like it (and eat my meals whenever I get hungry, not when some asshole boss tells me it's okay).

Lens, there's gotta be a way for the honest webmasters from Denmark to get in. What if you just do what some other programs do, that is, with-hold their payments for a few months as an insurance retainer of sorts? Maybe hire one or two guys and pay them a small monthly fee, issue them each a list of all the accounts you want monitored, and let those guys go to town checking out these webmasters and reporting back to you.
Too much? Too complicated? Not worth the effort? I'm not sure of the bigger picture here like you are Lens.

I know I wouldn't mind setting some time aside and doing that for you bro, think about it anyway. It may solve the issue or at least make it a bit better for the good webmasters in certain countries.

I won't take sides in this, but it DOES all come down to: Whomever runs/owns the site has the right to do as they see fit. Just like the tgp owners do. Don't like it? Lump it.

There are no laws that say a person HAS to allow anyone they see to work with them in their own program. I don't like to see a whole country banned personally, but if a high percentage of folks from that country insist on cheating then its the right of the program owner to ban the country in total.

Or would the webmasters in that country be willing to foot the bill for the extra employees the program owner would need to police that particular country? I doubt that would be the case. Welcome to Capitalism. We only have to deal with who we want.

As I stated before I don't believe in banning countries(and I don't) I believe in Banning Cheaters, and I mean realy screw em anyway you can. Possibilities are:

Shared blacklists
Possible legal actions(did that succesfully myself)
And sending a cheque and then make it bounce can hurt their cashflow quite effective too

But this should be directed to the CHEATERS not the countries.

I don't believe in wrong countries I do believe in wrong people and I think that should be the objective from the start.

Here is my opinion on this whole mess (btw: I am from Denmark too). This may come as a shock to some of you, but I actually agree with Lensman. Even though we have a fair amount of honest, hard working webmasters in Denmark, unfortuately we also have a ton of cheating fuckers, who bring shame upon the rest and really hurt the business for the honest ones.

If it was me running a program like AP and the stats showed that 90% of webmasters from a single country were cheaters, I would be tempted to ban the whole country just to save the program from a bunch of future cheaters.

BUT.. I would also look at the current webmasters in the program from that country. If they have acceptable convertion ratios, then there is no reason to kick them out, is there ?

Lensman: Please take a look at your current Danish webmasters and check their ratios for the past few months. Kick out the ones that send shit traffic or generate no signups, but let the productive ones stay.

Was very constructive, well put and a good point. Had you made THAT post initially it would have made more sense for your cause. But it is his program and he can do whatever he wants with it, and should. If policing webmasters from Denmark is too expensive or time consuming then he's going to ban them and he's not the only one.

I do like the idea of the form test for every webmaster though, sort of a prescreening, everyone knows webmistresses are insane so we don't have to take it

As it becomes more and more difficult to make an honest buck, more and more people resort to cheating.
There is just no impediment for non-US webmasters to cheat. It's too hard to prosecute them. If someone from Denmark would put their money where their mouth is (scotty) and run thier own program, they'd see just how many cheaters there are in the world.

Our banned countries list is a mile long. HONEST webmasters from the banned countries list are accepted into our program every day. KNOWN webmasters never have to fear ban lists, cheaters do.

oh, and scotty, I can show you more than 300 webmasters from denmark currently in our programs. I can also show you more than 3-5 cheaters.

How you can jump into this debate without facts is beyond me.

12Clicks and Lensman are correct. In addition to what they are saying from their sponsors point of view, I will have to agree and add to that from a Free Hosts Point of view. We find a HUGE percentage of cheaters on our hosting are from Denmark, (as well as many other countries)
Lens, and 12clicks never said ALL Danes are cheaters, rather that the percentage of cheating from there is so high, that why waste the time on that country as a whole.
But as 12clicks stated there are plenty of well known webmasters from all banned countries that are fine and not cheaters, so these people are fine.
Scotty, your a newbie here, and you dont even have a profile listed... you have no facts to back up anything you say... I can show you hundreds of good sites hosted with me from webmasters in Denmark that are fine, Then I can also show you a list of hundreds of Denmark sites that we shut down for cheating..

What about us (Danes) who signed up a few weeks ago, but didn't really start sending traffic? I've only sent clicks worth a couple of dollars, but I've incorporated AP banners in a new website project of mine. Should I discontinue it?

Another thing, while I've never experienced this - I can't help but think that webmasters from Denmark might be treated differently amongst others in the industry. If I e-mail the AP staff, would they give me the evil eye because statistically there's a great risk than I'm a cheater?
