digital camera peeps...
I'm about to upgrade from my Sony F707... and i'm torn....
the Sony F828 8MP pix look tight, plus i'm already familiar with the operation... the Canon 8MP Powershot Pro1 pix look a bit better... the Nikon Coolpix 8MP pix are the worst of the 3 8MP cams I've looked at... and finally, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3MP digital SLR seems to take considerable better pix than all three 8MP cams... all four are the same price... anyone got experiance with any of these? if you had a choice, which would you prefer? |

Buying a camera soley based on the pixel count is like buying a stereo only based on watts. You can get one with a high # that is really a piece of shit in the end. |

I was just a little shocked how much cleaner the pix looked when it was compared to the 8MP cams... |

Im looking at the EOS too.
That and the... erm, N70. Though, for me, its both the quality of the pics... and the availability of a good underwater case for them. Some cost $1500, some cost $3500... for the case alone.... Kinda sucks, but I have to base my decision off multiple factors. Let us know what you decide tho, and post some pics!!! |

If you're thinking about getting the Digital Rebel, go for the 10D instead. It gives you just that extra bit of flexibility you will otherwise miss for just a few bucks extra.

This site has great extensive reviews but more importantly plenty of sample shots:

Go with an SLR. Can't beat the flexibility as far as changing lenses and the quality of the optics.

10D absolutely. But I would wait for a bit as it's replacement is coming out mid September and will be an 8MP SLR.
