The holiday inn right on st-denis (not too far from ste-catherine corner) is a good place to stay if you plan to party .
There is Aria just next door and a lot of bars (st sulpice etc) on ste-chaterine . Just be warned that 25 % of the girls in thoses clubs are whores

There are plenty of great places to stay...what's your budget ?
What kind of bars are you into...? Strip clubs, lounges, disco, etc...?

The Four Points and Omni are both in the McGill ghetto (not a real ghetto, just swarms of university students). They're decent hotels but nothing special.
I don't know your budget but here are a few better hotels: Hotel St. James Hotel Germain Hotel Nelligan Queen Elizabeth Sofitel Intercontinental

Right IN the middle of downtown. On foot to eveywhere. Bars, restaurant, ACTION. Pool and bar on the roof.... Parking in the hotel. THE place to be at .
