Atheism is technically not a religion. However, atheism is often groupped together with other religions when trying to ascertain the demographic of worldwide belief. By doing so, it allows reseachers to include the entire population, as opposed to only that part of the population which is religious. I included it in my poll for the same reason.

I was referring to Atheism in the sense that denies the existence of God. Your definition seems closer to Agnosticism, which claims that it is impossible to know one way or the other. Are you an atheist or an agnostic? If you don't deny the existence of a God, it follows that you at least allow the possibility that one exists, in which case you are an agnostic.

Hypocrisy has nothing to do with idiocy. Idiocy refers to a state of profound mental deficiency (i.e., stupidity). Hypocrisy refers to belief, specifically to the genuineness of one's belief as measured through one's actions. If one claims to believe something, then acts in a way contrary that belief, he can be referred to as a hypocrite. Hypocrisy has nothing whatsoever to do with intelligence, nor is it a part of the definition of idiocy.

The answer to the question of whether or not God exists is very different than the answer to the question of how he wants us to live. The answer to the second question presupposes that the answer to the first question is 'yes'. You assume that since I believe that God exists, I MUST also believe that he is as those on the far right say he is, i.e., that he disapproves of pornography. I do not necessarily accept that conception of God. Even if I did, it would only mean that I am choosing to do something that he doesn't want me to do. That in no way means that my arguments are wrong. It might, however, mean that I am in deep trouble with him.
