I agree that it's mainly a matter of taste. There are a lot of raspy crooners and screamers out there, but most of them sing on key. The people I mentioned above are known for having sung off key.

David Lee Roth, aka "I forgot the fuckin' words." He was pretty cool in his youth, but the guy is downright pathetic nowadays. Same goes for Brian Johnson. He lost his voice 20 years ago..

Really? I haven't listened to DLR since 'Yankee Rose' 15 years ago or thereabouts. He must have gotten bad because I always thought he was a pretty good singer.

Brian Johnson isn't a singer ... he's a SCREAMER, but he's a kick ass screamer. I LOVE the old AC/DC stuff -- my favorite band of all time.
