it depends on taste, like you can have a bad football player for instance.

So basically there isn't any really bad singer (for some people)

I agree! Tom rocks, so does Neil and Bob. Not the greatest SINGERS in the world, but they are GREAT songwriters.

There are some pretty awful country singers, I agree.

I hate to say this but Brittney Spears absolutely belongs in that list.

I agree that it's mainly a matter of taste. There are a lot of raspy crooners and screamers out there, but most of them sing on key. The people I mentioned above are known for having sung off key.

David Lee Roth, aka "I forgot the fuckin' words." He was pretty cool in his youth, but the guy is downright pathetic nowadays. Same goes for Brian Johnson. He lost his voice 20 years ago..

How could I have forgotten William Hung! He sucks the big one, definitely. But he's so bad it's funny. He sure is making bank from his 'talents' though. His album sold over a million copies the first weekend it was released. I can sing AT LEAST as bad as he can. Why can't I get a record deal? :)

Brian Johnson isn't a singer ... he's a SCREAMER, but he's a kick ass screamer. I LOVE the old AC/DC stuff -- my favorite band of all time.

Barry Manilow is not known as a great singer but at least he sings on key. He wrote some pretty good songs. Chicks like him and his songs put them in the mood so he's OK with me.

If memory serves me correctly Rosanne Barr's poor attempt to sing the U.S. national anthem actually prompted a bill to be put before congress. The bill did not directly criticize her singing but stated that the U.S. national anthem should be changed because it's melodic range is only attainable by 10% of those trying to sing it.

Jessica Simpson makes William Hung sound like Sinatra as far as I'm concerned. She's definitely the worst popular singer I can think of.
