Hola,

My sub-woofer starts making a loud humming sound after being on for about 20 minutes. If I turn the speakers off, wait about 5 minutes, then I get another 20 minutes and problem stars again.

Any ideas why this is and how I can fix it?

I have two flat speakers that go into the sub-woofer, then the sub-woofer goes into my pc.

its feedback... is your sub and your other speakers close together, the magnets can cause probs, also if the speaker wire goes to close or cross's other electrical wires, plug strips or circuit breakers, feedback will occur. Last thing i can think of is your phone, how close to the speakers and system is your house phone(cordless usually) and/or cell phone. When my cell phone is on my desk and it rings, i get horrible feedback through the speakers, even if no music is playing.

No phone, but it was directly beside my pc tower....I've tried moving it as far away as the wire will allow, so I"ll see if that fixes the prob

I don't have the answer, but i'm curious... What name brand?

I used to have problems with my logitech subwoofer always 'humming'

IT could also be a connection in one of the circuits opening up when things start to heat up inside. Shutting it off and letting it cool causing it to work for a while makes me think it could be something like that. I have had problems like that with guitar amps and faulty pa gear.

It's a Maxell Flat Speakers / sub-woofer set. Shit I know, but came with my pc here. Didn't get around to buying good ones yet.

Keeping it away didn't solve the problem.

Could be a circuit problem as you mentioned, but I guess in that case I'll just have to get new ones soon and throw these out.

power transistor has a thermal problem not much you can do
unless you know electroincs.....sorry
