Glossary.com domain - Who wants to team up on development and kill dictionary.com!
Hi,
Anyone interested in developing this domain (Glossary.com) into the ultimate dictionary site? If you've some great ideas, and or a Grade-A design team, who can also program a nice dictionary/search program - Let's do it. ![]() My email address is: jayz @ cre.com |

I think you would be better off if you just sold the domain to them. There are just too many neg factors working against you in this situation.

A GFY member, or random domain speculator wanted to buy, at a reasonable price? I'd accept in a second. Dictionary.com offered the same amount, if not a bit more? I wouldn't sell to them if they licked my ass from here to across the street. ![]() |

You could probably partner with an offline dictionary so you have some legal content.

Word, I won't lie M-W.com is a great site/company. It's the best dictionary site online, next to urbandictionary.com ;) Too bad M-W didn't answer my fucking e-mails.

Due to high-volume, with little target audience, advertisements would not be on pps basis. But rather banners on a CPM format. And or Google adsense (which is of course CPC). In either case, I think with all the users online looking for definitions - This could receive tons of traffic. Thus, some easy money. Maybe not monumental, but some decent side income. Especially since I plan on having a niche glossary for various subjects. So not just a normal, average dictionary. But subdomains for huge markets. realestate.glossary.com automotive.glossary.com medical.glossary.com Etc etc . Huh? Huh? Pretty awesome ain't it. ![]() ![]() |

BTW if you own GeekTools, thanks again. Powerpipe's whois at one point was an outdated 'whois' piece of shit - Absolute shit, prior to converting to your software/whois feed. ![]() |

The only difference I can think of is - Dictionaries are standalone, they've their own book for "definitions". Glossaries are not standalone, and the definitions are found in the back of the book. As the book is the primary focus, not the definitions. In either case, both glossary and dictionary are one of the same. Both familiarize readers with the definition of words. Regardless how prevelant one maybe over the other. FYI - On dictionary.com, do you know what the definition of dictionary is when you use Thesaurus? Glossary. hmmmm, go figure considering they're completely different. Smarten up ![]() |

Great domain!
We can provide the staff needed to get the job done at a very reasonable rate. Programming and graphics are not a problem, but where do you plan to get the words/definitions? You can contact me anytime. Richard rich at desktopstaff d0t com ICQ: 322-574-184 US/Canada 1-877-415-6058 Global (63) 2-812-9537 |
