The only difference I can think of is - Dictionaries are standalone, they've their own book for "definitions". Glossaries are not standalone, and the definitions are found in the back of the book. As the book is the primary focus, not the definitions.

In either case, both glossary and dictionary are one of the same. Both familiarize readers with the definition of words. Regardless how prevelant one maybe over the other.

FYI - On dictionary.com, do you know what the definition of dictionary is when you use Thesaurus? Glossary. hmmmm, go figure considering they're completely different.
