This isn't a... "watch a new guy make 5 grand in his first month in the biz" thread. I truely hope it didn't come off like that. This is nothing more than an invite to watch what happens when someone starts out.

some good advices additionally, if you plan to do this full-time try to make few non adult sites as well. They can turn better and easier profit than adult at this moment.

 | I wish you all the luck. I'm in the same boat. Except I'm a little bit lazy. I took out a loan for 2500, to promote my mainstream site, and have profited pretty well. However, I have put most of my profit into my adult sites, and I guess they suck, cause they are money pits. But, I have learned A LOT in the past year and have turned a pretty nice profit, and I would be happy to repay the favors that so many of the cooler webmasters have given me. If you need anything, hit me up on ICQ 195479304 or aim bcooter151

If they only knew how much things changed. dude, internet is still at its early stage. there's a ton of money to be made still. just be in the game. |

 | Good luck man.... my advice, spend wisely. You don't need $2000 to get started in this business... Start with a cheap host and work your way up. For good cheap hosting check out the deals over at http://www.250host.com ... http://www.amateurhosting.com is also a good cheap host to start out with while your bandwidth is relatively low. Need content? You can always use free sponsor content... check out AdultLounge ... they've got tons of free content for you to promote AdultLounge with, and the conversions are great! Or if you want to buy content check out http://www.worldwidecontent.com AVS & Free Sites are still a great way to promote programs without using a shitload of bandwidth (TGP). And you'll notice alot higher conversions too... I'd give them a shot first, and maybe try some PPC SE's. |

 | Good luck bro. No need to try to grow too fast. I see this happen too often. Grow slow. Stable. Dont rush it. Dont stress for funds to do this ot that. Just grow grow grow and re-invest, reinvest reinvest. Being you are in school puts you at an advantage. You can grow it slow and stable and go to school at the same time. I was in Grad School in 1997 when I started as well. I would skip class and do work in the library or Computer labs in college. By buds would laugh.. Even when I graduated I got a real job and did my Porn stuff on the side. Grew it more and more and more, and Re-invested almost all the money it made. SHit was spendy back then. Everything from content to bandwith to programing. Now days that shit is all cheap and growth can happen overnight what once would take weeks if not months. Nevertheless take your time. And remember dont grow to fast. Take your time and establish that base. And Re-Invest that money you make from it, dont spend it. Evolve with the industry, and dont let it chew you up. By reinvesting your money into your shit it helps you adapt to the environment and evolve with the industry. You see too many companies or webmasters who make the cash then they spend it or blow it. Then they just wash away becasue of thier inabilty to adapt and evolve. Get a stable base and grow and contiue to always grow and evolve is the best weapon you can have. Its a weapon that is purely just a frame of mind. Yet so many webmasters lack it. This advice goes to any niche of the industry. I have not idea what you are doing specfically, but I assure you this will apply to what ever you intend to do. Good luck and stick with it. I rememeber my old poor college days like they were yesterday. It was an exciting time.

 | Oh yeah... Another piece of advice. OUTSOURCE... Never hire a American Programer. Designers are ok, but programers outsource. They are cheaper, more creative and dedicated. They are just as sharp and will save you a bundle. And they seem to stick around to the end. Dont believe the BS that Euro, Former Soviet Nation, and Turkish people cant be trusted. They can. And the dollar goes a long way with them. One thing they are not afriad to do is work. your typical American programer is spoiled. How do you find good foreign programers? Network. Network Network. Thats one of the biggest tools you can have. Your networking ability. Get to know people. Not fucking around on GFY.. ITs networking yeah, but have a more serious means of networking as well. Your sucess in the biz will be as good as your social network not just your technical network.

 | Well... damn, I havta say I've gotten a far better response than I imagined. Part of me was expecting to get flamed non-stop for a good three pages with something like "50 retarded newbies" and "100 soon to be 2K in debt" to top off pages 2 and 3. boneprone: Thanks a lot for the advice and encouragement, you're actually on my list of "people you should get to know". polish_aristocrat: I do try. infectd: will do, watch for the bump when things get started. |
