Just clever / in-your-face controversial marketing.

I'ts really not that clever.

Clever is introducing a NEW ISSUE, or a new perspective.
So far I've read "insults" and "bad mouthing" in ONCE AGAIN a very important ADULT INDUSTRY thread.

Why are you asking low end webmasters to chip in anything when these companies have MILLIONS to use to defend this?

I dont get it...

From my laymans point of view these companies have taken on the dragon that can plague this industry for centuries.

They have been using thier own money to this point with very few donations.

Since they are fighting for something we will all benifit from and they are gaining ground it's time we all pitched in to help them monetarily. I have not seen them ask for huge donations or even donations the smallest of webmasters cannot afford. Quite simply they have asked everybody to pitch in.

If your large enough you can kick them 10k or even 1k for the defense fund then so be it.

If your small and struggling I believe they have asked for support as low as 100 dollars or even promotoing thier sites.

I have had words with Charly in the past about his spamming techniques, however I will say this is a stand up thing he is doing to help the fighters with content and the offers he has made with his bargain basement stuff to donate 80% of the proceeds to this fight.

I am a small fish in this sea of webmasters and adult industry professionals but I have donated and will continue to donate wherever and whenever I can to help support this fight.

This is only a battle that has been won. This is not the end of the war and this battle will probably wage on for years.

Kudo's to the companies standing up to Acacia. :thumbsup

I don't work for Acacia.
I took ALL MY VIDEO off of my website because of Acacia.
(risk management learned right here on GFY)

They've cost me 18 months of restructuring and I just might sue them. ; ) [wink]

SexEducation.com must remain 100% ANONYMOUS.
Have you reported to Acacia yet?

MasterBlogger 07-13-2004 05:30 PM

Brandon ...I've been reading ...
this is good news.

It's not over but the other side finally had to take a step.
The question is why did it take so long for them to blink???

The answer is - the patent office wasn't ready EITHER for the massive explosion of the information age.

There is a few that have to be reversed - so what - move on.

Charly has been a long time battler of Acacia on many boards.
That is a sig (if for sale) you should buy.

Very well respected on GFY.

Far-L 07-13-2004 06:27 PM

The battle is far from over and if you look you will find that Acacia is already spinning the ruling as THEIR victory...!

Ludicrous at best but the stupidest beast will fight the hardest when it thinks it is cornered. My guess is Acacia is going to try even harder to spend us into the ground at this point.

Many thanks to Spike and Greg Claymen for their tireless efforts and huge thanks to the rest of the members of our defense group.

Everyone is free to make what ever business decision befits their concerns, but if you do want to help the fight against Acacia then there are other ways to show support. If it is not easy to give money then make money with a company that is fighting Acacia and you will be helping a great deal.

your posts aren't controversial, and they're not clever. The only reason people respond to your threads is because you're a known pedo and they hate you.

If it weren't for that, you would get very few replies at all. You're a dull poster.

As the judge stated in the Markman Order, the defendants have grounds to file for summary judgement.... the defendants would get a non-infringement verdict...

At this point, it would mean the patent has not been invalidated.

The people who licensed the patent will have to continue to pay because their agreement only lets them off the hook if the patent is found to be invalid.

A company would have to stop paying the agreement, which would be breach of contract, and then would get sued by acacia, then they could point to the defendants non-infringement verdict.

Means more legal bills to get out of something that might have seem a lower costly "business decision" then joining the defense group.

If someone is only paying $300/month to acacia, it might be cheaper to just keep paying them until 2011 when the patent expires than pay legal fees for breaching the contract.
