I can't stand people who buy SUVs with no intention of ever taking them offroad. They're unsafe for both the occupants and anyone who's unlucky enough to be hit by one. Their fuel economy doesn't even deserve to be classified as fuel economy, good or bad; it's just fucked. And maybe it's just me, but the majority of them can't drive for shit and should never be allowed in front of the wheel of any vehicle ever again.

There is no advantage to buying an SUV if you intend to do nothing more than drive to work with it. Buy a fucking station wagon if you want some room. And jesus christ, the costs. Tyres, maintenance, and you'd better hope someone doesn't drive into the back of you, because your repair costs are goign to be two or three times what you pay on a regular car for similar damage.

I can't believe how stupid people are. It's gotten to the point where Landrover have actually released a "Town" and "Country" version of their Discovery. Anyone buying the town version may as well rubber stamp "retard" on their forehead, and the majority of people that buy the country version just didn't want their mates laughing at them, but you know they'll never take it off road either.

I feel your pain...but honestly if I could I'd buy a big ass hummer and just drive cautiously...I don't think in most cases you're going to get hurt all that much in a wreck...now there are going to be those cases..but I think in most accidents which occur near your home and on surface streets you'd be rather safe ;)

which brings me to my bitch.. I bitch about the big ass SUV that my hubby bought me.. I am stuck in the house working day and night just to make the fucking outrageous payment.. and lets not even go there about haveing to pay through the nose for a tank of gas and how far does it get me..not far enough.. I bitch every day about this fucking thing..we do go offroad and do use it as a 4 wheel drive.. but I want a economy 4 wheel drive that doesnt offend everyone everywhere...hubby says its for when we get a boat...ugh..cant afford one.. too busy trying to pay the fucking car payment.

That's the big misconception though. Everyone thinks that because they're so big, you'll be safe. There have been tests down all around the world about them. Not only are you way more likely to kill someone else in an accident, but even the people in the SUV are more likely to die in a similar accident than they would in a regular car for certain types of accidents.

Oh, and i forgot to mention that they're proned to rolling. The single biggest safety issue for those in an SVU is swerving out of the way and then having to correct, to avoid say, an oncoming car, or a tree. Even at normal speed, the chance of a roll is significant. Get out on a highway and you'll be lucky if you don't roll more than 10 times. Something like 60% of deaths in SUV accidents are due to rollovers. And the roof of an SUV crushes just as easily as the roof of a regular car.

And sure, there have been significant advances in anti-roll technology in recent years, but you're still waaaaaaaaaay way more likely to roll.

Motivation to work hard to get that boat. Buy a boat and dock it! That way ya just jump in and turn the key. Enables ya to skip the car payment. Of course if you can't afford the car payment, the boat payment and dockage fees will be a pain too.

haha, i'm "whoring" for the SUV as it is... now I have to be a boat whore too..damn. I didnt think about the photohoots and a tax write off..will have to make sure hubby puts it in my name..
