Search Engine Tricking and Traffic Stealing

How do you all feel about all the search engine tricking and traffic stealing there is going on?

This might just be me, but as a user (customer) of search engines, not just a webmaster (provider), I am getting increasingly more frustrated on all the false results, and there have been times where I have simply given up.

Let me give you two examples, the first one being about search engines tricking, actually an entry page that provides no real information, and that only is a mouse trap. I came upon this page while doing some research on a Czech model.

Search term in Google: Lucie Haluzikova

This entry is on the first page.

Mac And Bumble Lucie_Haluzikova.html - Nude centerfold gallery ...
... Portella Lucie_Haluzikova.html Lucie Chytilova Lucie_Haluzikova.html Lucie Frisova
Lucie_Haluzikova.html Lucie Haluzikova Lucie_Haluzikova.html Lucie Horinkova ...
http://www.macandbumble.com/catalog/...aluzikova.html - 45k - Cached - Similar pages

Except for the top menu, this page http://www.macandbumble.com/catalog/...aluzikova.html only contains links to other similar page that also only contains links. No real information, only model names repeated endlessly and combined with other model names. MacAndBumble has similar blind pages for ALL the other models combined with Lucie_Haluzikova.html on that page, and they have been allowed to do this for at least 6 months.

Now on to search engine traffic stealing, again I was doing a search as a user to find some sexy lesbian jokes.

Search term in Google: "Sexy Lesbian Jokes"

Note that the term is in quotes.

The very first, or second, depending on when you search is this entry:

------------------------------------------------------
Only here lesbian jokes
lesbian jokes. Enter to lesbian jokes now. Very hot ! lesbian jokes. free mother daughter lesbian pictures interacial lesbian sex asian ...
lesbian-jokes.les-x.biz/ - Similar pages
------------------------------------------------------

However the link http://lesbian-jokes.les-x.biz/, is a redirect to another page that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with sexy lesbian jokes http://www.allsitesaccess.com/main.h...y8043&p=cleanp

Hell, I dare you to try and do the same search but without the quotes, Sexy Lesbian Jokes, and I bet you can't find a single sexy lesbian joke, going to any of the links on the many first pages.

This traffic tricking and directly stealing traffic from other sites, which actually has the search term(s), is especially a problem when searching for adult related content.

I know that even though the adult website industry contains perhaps the largest number of dishonest people that any other industry, there is many honest and hard working webmasters, including many people on this board. So let me repeat my question to all my fellow honest colleagues.

How do you all feel about all the search engine tricking and traffic stealing there is going on?

Please post a comment, and take my little poll.

Thanks

Exactly my point crockett. I assume you mean for directly stealing, so what do you think about the MacAndBumble mousetrap (entry) pages I gave an example of?

Keep in mind that they actually do feature the model Lucie Haluzikova on their site, but the page it self and thousands more like it, actually the number of models on the page times the number of models on the page, approximately 30,000 to 40,000 pages created by a program and submitted, provides no real information or value to the search engine user.

Quote from slapass "It pays the bills."

So does that mean that you think stealing a purse from a little old lady is ok too?

It pays the bills!

They are manipulating the algo and filters, there's nothing really wrong with it. I'm not going to say it's the greatest practice in the world, and I'm sure if I were searching for something in particular and that popped up in the SERPs that I'd probably share in your frustration, but really, there's nothing illegal about it. You need to respect them in the sense that if they have found a loophole on how to secure themselves a shitload of free search engine traffic (from Google I'm guessing) then more power for them. Gaining top rankings for adult keywords is considered the Holy Grail of rankings.

The real question is if you were able to do it, would you, or would you consider it unethical and turn away from it?

The one thing I am against are those spyware programs who consider themselves "adware" but change your browser's information on what you see. Where if you went to Google, performed a search and the top 6 spots were altered by the spyware's program so their advertisers would appear to hold top rankings. That shit scares me, because spyware is becoming a serious problem.

Oh, I overlooked you sig slapass "Too lazy for a real job"

That tells me everything about you as a person. You are too lazy to make your money honestly!

No wonder you are a cheater, not only stealing traffic from all us honest webmasters, but also cheating and misleading search engine users.

You are nothing but a thief in my opinion!

Thanks for your comment NiteChatDotTV.

What do you think about if I could do it, would I do it. My post should tell you a little something about my person.

One of my websites is featuring 700 models, all in a database, and it would take me about an hour or less make code that would do like MacAndBumble that would spit out 700x700 pages, about half a million pages, and flood the search engines.

Would I do it? Today no! But if Google and others, keep allowing these empty no information pages, I will!

That was about search engine entry pages, but what do you think about misleading pages, that do NOT lead you to what yo searched for? Is that ok in your opinion?

Geez! So what you actually is saying that it is ok for me to make a few hundred optimized pages about Viagra and submit it to 1000+ search engines, even though I do not sell Viagra?

You're right about this is the world we are living in, full of scumback cheaters, liars, and thiefs, who do not posses the minimum amount of braincells to make an honest living.

You have your right to accept this as your real world, however I do not accept it, and I am sure the millions of people who is mislead to sites that offered what they were looking fo rdo no accept it either.

News Flash !! Your bitching about it is not going to make it go away. Just accept that this is the way it is and move on, there is nothing you can do to change it and your complaining about it is doing nothing else but wasting your time

Coatsy you are so wrong, I am not only complaining, I am actually doing something about it.

1) Every time I do a search where the result (link) is totally misleading, I report it to the search engine, and I encourage all you honest webmasters reading this to do the same. Eventually they, the search engines will do something about it. The same with SPAM, nobody really did anything for years, but at least now they are putting people behind bars, and doing all kind of preventive measures to deal with it.

2) I start a post on this Adult Forum, and others, to discuss the matter

You are obviously contend with the situation, but millions of seach engines users are NOT, and neither am I.

Traffic stealing ?

It's google (a commercial(sp) company .. not a social security for webmasters who have never heard of paying for commerce) or any other search engine ... they deliver a service to surfers and hope to make money with that.

If they bring a bad a service .. it's their fuck up ... let them hire people to visit every website and rank them based on that.

If you make a script to spider webpages and rank them on key words .. or what ever ... then that is exactly what you get .. i'm going to have to change my key-words .. because some google surfers don't like that a commercial company of who they use their service! .... go to a other search engine .. don't come complaining to me.

If someone is stealing traffic ... then it are the search engines .. by deep linking pages deep of websites ... and so make up a large search-able database .. with content that isn't theirs.

LOL .. this thread makes no sense

Coatsy your replies, and others like them, is exactly why I am also tired of posting on this adult forum.

Not once, have anyone ever replied my posts on other adult forums (AdultInsider, GreenGuyAndJim, NetPond, etc.) in the discrespectful tones, and language that is many times used here.

Off course I can't expect everybody to agree with me, but even if you totally disagree is it too much too ask to answer respectfully?

And for your writings "I guess you must fall into a certain character type". Yes, you're absolutely right I am a "certain" character type:

Honest, High self integrity, Respectful, Loyal, etc.

What type are you?

How do you all feel about all the search engine tricking and traffic stealing there is going on?
there's so much competition that there's no easy way out of this.
a qoute comes to mind "if something can go wrong, it will go wrong". take any part of society you will see number of 'dishonest' people, i don't think there is a problem with dishonest people and them exploiting any possible means of making a coin. the adult industry is completely unregulated because it so new, there are no common standarts and no laws to regulate anything. basically each on its own figuring things out.

i feel same way about search engine tricking as i feel about blind links, automated rebilling without clear notification to users, massive popups, spamming, shady dialers and the list could go on.

unless we come to goverment and tell them, that we want to operate honestly and regulate the industry, there will be dishonest practice and you won't be able to prevent everything that you consider illegal just on your own.
the govenment will change and influence this industry whether you agree with them or disagree

you have to look at the following things. what are you selling, how you advertize it, how you prevent minors - all these and many other things eventually will be regulated. all im saying it will be better for the industry to take the iniciative first.

Thanks for your reply Gel.

Thanks for checking up on me, yes I just registered at those sites using this screen name today, because I wanted a little anonymity from my other screen names.

And yes I guess I should have thought about the "PPC SE" for one more second, and I would have figured it out, but I was in a hurry composing a private message to that Swedish babe Kamilla

I have only been in the business for 1½ years. I run one adult review site, 3 TGP's, and 20 paysites.

And yes you are absolutely right, there is not much going on at the other boards, which is why I post here and take a little bullshit

Ok, let's see what this retarded post says:

If you do SEO stuff whatever it is then you steal someones SE traffic. Are you retard or something like? It's NOT YOUR TRAFFIC, it's Google's traffic. Unless you start your own search engine you have nothing to complain.
So if tomorrow I rank my site #1 for "free sex" I would be stealing your traffic?

By the way, I own a search engine (one that spiders like google and also ranks pages) and I know what I am talking about. I get lots of "spam" complains from people who don't even know how does a search engine work. I usually ignore them because their statements are pointing the same as you. I guess it would be better to post something like "My SEO skills suck, are there any handy SEOs around... I can pay $$$123"

Useful link for you: http://www.sexeel.com

Hope this helps you with your frustration, but blaming at people who can SEO is stupid, even if they use shaddy techniques. This is not comunism and no one grants you free lunch. Go and work your ass to get higher positions.

Oh yes PowerCum, people like you is EXACTLY the reason why I said that this board is full of disrespectful people.

Is it really necessary to insult me, just because you don't share my opinion?

Quote "If you do SEO stuff whatever it is then you steal someones SE traffic.". Know to lower myself to your level, who is a fucking retard now?

There is a difference between optimizing a site selling Viagra, and then making a misleading entry page about Viagra, that redirects to a porn site.

For your information I get over 1000 hits a day, from Google USA alone, for just one of my sites out of 30 sites. So I don't consider my SEO skills to suck.

thats what i said earlier .. dont hate on the people because theyve worked harder to get the positions if the people with the content worked equally as hard im sure they would rank well aswell

Sure ask a thief if it is OK stealing, and he would probably say that it is.

Ask the victim, and he would say it is not.

What did that clarify?

What really frustrates me is that I have to waste time with misleading links, when searching for something.

I dispise you, and others than you don't have enough brain cells to make an honest living.

You really can't get traffic, to what ever it is you are selling, by just promoting that and not something which have absolutely nothing to about the shit you are selling?

It is because of filthy scum backs like you, that the adult online industry might get to be regulated.

It is because of criminals like you, IT departments spends billions of dollars world wide, in resources, hardware, and wasted time fending off your spam.

It is because of cheaters and liars like you, I notch a mark in my monitor, every time I report you to Google, Yahoo, FTC, APIC or whatever place appropriate for you offence.

It is because of degenerates like you that this planet is going down the toilet, not a shread of integrity, just genes that are in disarray.

Just think for a moment what all that money spend on fighting people like you, could have put to good use on. Billions of dollars every year, for years would have made a nice progess.

Yes bring on your bullshit, I dare you asshole!

Sum it up this way - I make my money, and plenty off it honestly and you don't!

What does that tell you?

Jonathan Quarkschowski are you proud of what you are doing? Do you tell your family and friends what you really do? What are you going to tell your grand children?

"Yeah, kids in my glory days I mislead millions of unaware Internet surfers, and spammed even more. It was because of me and others like me, that search engines had to spend millions of dollars checking and fending off my cheat sites and developing software that could detect it. It was because of me and others like me, that the IT departments worldwide had to spend billions of dollars in otherwise unnecessary hardware and software development to try and keep of with the horde of spam I sent them. Aren't you proud of me kids?"

You know Jonathan, I am actually proud of what I have achieved and what I am doing, and even though most of my sites are adult oriented, I brag, tell, and discuss my sites with friends and family all the time.

You know I take back what I said that you did not have many brain cells, because I actually think are quite intelligent. It just baffles me that you have chosen to spend your apparently huge of amount of energy and matching wits, cheating and spamming people. Did it never cross your mind to do a 180° turn and spend your intellect on something honest and constructive?

A little earlier I said that this planet is going down the toilet, and allow me to elaborate on that, and yes I am going global now

People similar to you, unfortunately thinks short-term for profit, acts long-term destructive, and do not give a fucking shit about the future, except the short term immediate tomorrow where they can spend their loot. Your type, mislead, cheat and lie to others like it was only natural, spam like their was no tomorrow, milk natural resources to depletion, pollute the environment to the brink of extinction, all because of the potential short-term dollar value. What about your kids? What planet do you want to leave them? Or what about their kids? And that last question, is EXACTLY what separates you and me! You don?t give a shit about what happens after you die, and I bet you will probably try and profit big on something like a nuclear arms deal to the highest bidder, even if it is terrorists, the day your doctor tells you that you have 6 months left to live, because you simply do not give a rats ass!

U.N. Aims to Bring Spam 'Epidemic' to End
Jul 6, 1:26 PM (ET)
GENEVA (AP) - The United Nations is aiming to bring a "modern day epidemic" of junk e-mail under control within two years by standardizing legislation to make it easier to prosecute offenders, a leading expert said Tuesday. "(We have) an epidemic on our hands that we need to learn how to control," Robert Horton, the acting chief of the Australian communications authority, told reporters. "International cooperation is the ultimate goal." The International Telecommunications Union is hosting a meeting on spam in Geneva this week that brings together regulators from 60 countries as well as various international organizations, including the Council of Europe and the World Trade Organization. The U.N. agency said it would put forward examples of anti-spam legislation which countries can adopt to make cross-border cooperation easier. Many states currently have no anti-spamming laws in place, making it difficult to prosecute the international phenomenon. Top priority is "pornographic material ... that may come to the attention of children," said Horton, who is running the meeting. "I think it's time we did something formally about this. We will have to come to some sort of general understanding." As much as 85 percent of all e-mail may be categorized as spam, the ITU said, compared to an estimated 35 percent just one year ago. The vast majority is generated by a few hundred people, but authorities are not able to prosecute many of them under current legislation. Spam and anti-spam protection cost computer users some $25 billion last year, according to the United Nations. Now the problem is rapidly spreading to cell phones. Nine of every 10 spam messages in Japan are now directed to mobile phones as text messages, Horton said. Spamming is also being used to perpetrate criminal acts. One technique - known as "phishing" - involves sending e-mails that appear to be genuine correspondence from reputable companies. Recipients are asked for their bank details to clear up a mistake and then money is bled from their accounts.
