Vancouver's a beautiful city. Molson's a good beer. Tom Green is funny as shit.

That's my tribute to the Canucks.

Someone said: "As for beer.... I dont like beer in green bottles!"

Our beer isn't in green bottles. Except for John Labatt Classic, which is total shite anyway.

I've never said "eh" in my life, and I can't recall any of my friends saying it either. I think maybe the people from the far eastern parts of Canada have a habit of finishing sentences with that phrase. Although I've never been there, so I don't know for sure.

I live on the west coast, but I would have to say without a doubt Montreal is probably the best city in the world for beer, pizza, culture, and beautiful sexy women

It's the worst city in Canada for driving, but with all those great women, who the hell cares

Hey, I live in Dodgeville, Michigan (Upper Michigan) and we all have a strong Canadian accent and say "Eh" and "Da", he he. They call us Yoopers up here, he he. As a matter of fact, there's even a band that pokes fun at the way that we are up here called Da Yoopers, here's their site - http://www.dayoopers.com Anyways, I'm outta here for now.

See ya,
Slick

Dam, I love DaYoopers. They were getting some radio play up here in Frostbite Falls a few years ago.

i think the states makes up shit about canada to better themselves. i've lived here my whole life and found only a few stereotypes to be true. we love our beer, the prairies are boring as fuck, we're pussies when it comes to war, but only because we've got nothing to prove. oh, and everyone overseas likes us, but not the states. they hear the accent and automatically hate us thinking we're yanks. that's why every canadian traveller wears a maple leaf on their backpack.

I like them both, my Dad's family is from Tronto area, he didn't even speak english until he was about 6.

I grew up in MI, and, unfortunately, even after living for 21 years away from Michigan, I still say eh all the time.

Euchre! You play that up in Canada too eh?

:0

I miss visiting Canada, I haven't been up there in a long time. Beautiful country you have.

But for now, I'll take Vegas. I've turned into a city girl. Don't think you have anything like that!

I think the whole "eh" thing got exagerated with Bob and Doug McKenzie on SCTV... Don't tell me you people have forgotten!?
Most of Canada's population is concentrated along the border. So most Canadians get a healthy dose of the States (not only US TV) before they're adults. I guess the reverse is true, most border Americans have seen mythical Canadians.
The main reason people move to the states from Canada is for money, better paying jobs.
Question: if we pay so much in frigging tax for a better social system, healthcare etc, why do all the teaching and nursing grads move to work in the States?

More Questions: after the failure and mass layoffs in a lot of high tech companies is there a reverse on the Brain Drain happening? Are those Canadians who moved to work in the States that got laid off moving back to Canada? What's the US equivalent to EI or is there one? If they stayed here and got laid off they would at least get what 60% of their income back from EI.

oh and BC pot is just fine thank you very much! Actually, that last joint you smoked was probably grown here! It's surprising how politicized that downtown weed culture thing is! Americans seem to thrive on their vice and the illegality of it, we want to legalize just about everything.
I guess another trait of Canadians is when they think their rights are being stepped on we'll form a political party around the single issue!
My favorite though is the Doug Henning party.. what is it the Natural Law party. Did you see the hopping (sorry levitating) yogies???
On a final note, I've been to more places in the States than Canada. I don't think I've been east of the Rockies. I know a lot of people from other parts of Canada, and I'm told I'm a typical Vancouverite whatever that is since I don't ski or snowboard haha!
cheers, had to ad my 1.333 before taxes!

If Canada merged with the US, Canada would have lower taxes and the US would have better beer. What more could you possibly want?

Enlightening Americans - Its Not Just A Job, It's A Career!

Well then enlighten me!
I have some Canadian cousins and we visit they drive us nuts with "eh". "Where do you want to go, eh?", "What do you want to do, eh?", "Good food, eh?", "This huge mall with fake flying ducks is neat, eh?"

Also, I work in the movie business, and that 1.50 currency difference isn't such a good thing. The movie business is heading that way. It doesn't affect me personally, because the work I do can easily be shipped to Canada, but a lot friends have had to move back to their home states, broke, and hurt that their industry (union) didn't stand up for them.

RedShoe,

Do all Americans say "Hunh" at the end of every sentence?

Whenever I cross the border south... "your roof has a leak" becomes "your ruff has a leak"

in Canada; "Thank-you" reponse "You're Welcome"

in the US; "Thank-you" reponse "Uh Huh"
