Pros use Comus. Amateurs use AutoGallery. Now make your choice.

I'm running the free comus on a test site right now because I'm thinking of buying it. The free comus skims 2% of your traffic.. add a free trade script that skims 1% and you're losing 3% of your traffic.
To me, I'm at the stage where that's not acceptable to me. I would rather buy a paid script and keep total control over where my traffic goes .. but if you're on a budget, just starting out and you understand that you'll lose 3% then go for it. I definitely would recommend that you try out the free Comus before buying it. It has a lot of issues, the admin interface is god aweful and they've only got one guy handling everything so it's very expensive if you need someone to log into your system and have a look. They do have an excellent support forum, though.. and a lot of big sites run it so the things that are issues to me might be irrelevant to you. Auto Gallery SQL has a way better admin interface .. but it has it's own pitfalls. AG isn't an option for my sites because the template system is too limited to accomplish what I need ... plus, gallery rotation based on most clicks is essential for my site .. comus will do that .. I don't think AGS will. As to your question on blind links .. it depends on what kind of TGP you plan on running. If you're going to be a thumb TGP then blind links are almost essential to build up your trades.. but the more bookmarkers you get the less you can skim and your produtivity will go up and your trades will balance out. A new site will have to skim 40-50% to trades unless you can afford to buy a lot of traffic to get it started. A text link TGP is way different though. And it's up to you. You could go the no blind link route and concentrate on hard links and search engine traffic. |

I like comus, autogallery doesnt have nearly as many options. I don't know about the free version of comus but to buy it, its well worth the price.
I would have to say things I like over autogallery... comus Rotated thumbs every 10 mins to every day. Ranking system as per clicked and they show you values of what is clicked and not. update comus with 500 to 1000 galleries a week and never touch it again. depending on how many time you update a day. comus webmaster submit page allows gallery submitters to make there own thumb with the script instead of photoshop and other programs. Got alot of complants about thumbs on other scripts not working with the rules of script. After switching to comus they where all happy and no emails about the script. Easy sort feature to pull thumbs. Like you could have your own teen thumb galleries next spot submitted thumbs of amateurs next spot your galleries of a diffrent nich and so on. you can have your own galleries hidden so you can pull your own galleries in one spot lets say teens and then you can have in a diffrent spot submitted teens. Catagories are easy to change and add. I dont know. I like comus for many reason. with auto gallery, its nice to start off with. and runs great. just not alot of features. Me personaly. I run autogallery on text tgps and comus on thumb tgps. I guess it's upto what your looking for in a script. Read what both have and see which one looks better or runs better. |

Go with Comus. Anyways, I prefer text TGPs instead opf thumb ones. At least for me they make more money.
