It is a shame Iraq actually has quite a bit of money, and should have excellent long-term oil revenues, as do Saudi/Kuwait etc.

Europe was utterly devastated by WWII and the U.S. pumped in funds to rebuild the continent. They didn't just give people money, but got busy re-building manufacturing, hospitals, schools, housing and helped prop up the governments financially.

And I've read in so many places and have heard from so many pundits both political and sociological that one of the main reasons Muslims hate the United States IS because of it's wealth and because of all the opportunites that exist in our country.

So while they might be dying for "God/Allah", I'm willing to bet that a great many of them would stop the terrorism if they found themselves in markedly better living conditions monetarily.

Hey, even asshole himself Bin-Laden is offering GOLD to people who kill American soldiers etc. Saddam was even giving money to the families of suicide bombers in Palestine (though I'd REALLY like to know how much those people actually got from him.)

So while we may think that money does NOT talk in the Middle East, I think it really does..especially at the right amount!

I think this actually is true, because I was reading somewhere that in Qatar (which is a muslimg country), the people there are all quite wealthy, and there isn't a huge distinction between the rich and the poor, they have a middle class but no real poverty .

And everyone gets free housing, healthcare and university schooling and the people aren't opressed so they don't care much about being extremist or fundamentalist and don't want to die for Allah because they are content. If they were poor they would be more willing to die , but if you are happy and content and not miserable, what would you want to die for?

So that's an example of how a muslim can be peaceful as long as it's wealthy (with no extreme poverty or discontented lowe classes) and is somewhat democratic.

I fully agree with your last sentence and I appreciate your point of view excepting one thing? Personally I wont feel happy if an US (or ANY other) guy gets killed especially if he is just a child. The human's live is invaluable, so all the politics, religion and other shit doesn't cost even one singe live (may be this is why I don't accept any religion and why I hate all the politicians).
