Sorry, I am confused why people think gore would have been better than bush!???

The People knew Bush favored capital punishment, People knew that Bush favored restraints on abortion, People knew that Bush wanted to cut taxes, People knew that Bush was about as center as a person can get!

On the other hand, The People knew Gore is anti-capital punishment, People knew Gore wants everything about abortion to be a womans choice, People knew that Gore was against a tax cut, People knew that Gore was about as left as they come..

A for instance. Mr Whore, I mean Gore.. Lobbied the MPAA and took all of their MILLIONS of dollars telling them he didnt favor restrictions on violence in movies. Yet what did he do once he got the money? He went back and Said that the movies were to violent for our children! And at the same time he said that the video games are to violent for our clildren. Not sure how much money he got from the gaming industry..Not up on that since I dont play any killing games..

How can anyone say that Gore would have been better??

We were fucked either way....we had two horrible choices last year....

Only one I was hoping would make it in there was McCain....he's a level headed thinker that doesn't follow the fucked up crowed from any party...although he falls more on the republican side he's WAY not republican in all of his thinking....WOW, what a concept an independent, straight talking thinker....I guess that would have been too much of a dream to imagine a person like that would make it to the top in this country....

We as a human species are bright enough to employ breeding practices and such with our animals...let's pick dogs for this example...cuz I a few Rotts that are like my children...

So, now if one of my dogs goes out and kills someone what do I do? I've had a talk with my dogs and told them that if they do that shit, daddy will spend the 15cents on a bullet and dump them in the ocean.

We don't tolerate "violent insanity" in killer dogs, why do we do that with people? hmmmm

See, there is something in the psych world called "nature versus nurture"....meaning that "Is it that someone's environment caused them to be a psycho killer or is it in their genes?"

As most level headed psychologists and psychiatrists will tell you...It's a little of both...

So, what do we do? Put someone in prison for life where they can learn to love the gangrapings, new drug habbits, and a myriad of other criminal activities? Or do we do the human thing and BREED them out of our species/genes? hmmmm

Do I think that some killers can be truely reformed? I definitely do! Do I think ALL killers can be reformed? Definitely Not!

I'm strongly against mandatory sentencing which involves the death penalty and a variety of other mandatory sentencing issues. And I'm also strongly in support of a top to bottom evualtion and restructuring of our criminal justice system AND our "rehabilitation" facilities & practices...Our system is clearly close to bankruptcy in equality, effectivess, etc etc etc

Flat out not supporting the death penalty or flat out supporting a "no" death penalty I couldn't see as being reasonable no matter how you slice it.

Extremism on either end is just that "extreme" which imho doesn't jive with a level-headed, mature, thoughtful, educated view on things.

that's my 5 cents for the evening...

too much caffeine makes me ramble on...I'll stick to herbal teas tommorow for everyone's sake

Yeh, good point Jimmy....but, I can teach my children that everything has consequences. I look at "some" instances of the death penalty being a matter of this question:

I'm in favor of the protection of the many.

I look at some instances of the death penalty being about protecting the society at large....for those seriously fucked in the head killers...

Ones that can be reformed should be...totally! Those that are over the edge should be dealt with.

However, I do feel a lot of the people on death row can be rehabilitated. Saying that we can't is just a sad admission to our lack of abilities in the behavioral/health science world. :/

We can destroy our planet, we can put people on the moon but we can't deal with shit like this...very sad indeed.
