Fucking anxiety

Since saturday I'm damn anxious and can't get work done! I keep walking from the computer to the fridge or just around the apartment, then I come back to the computer and work for a few seconds and it repeats and repeats for the whole day.

I have lots of stuff to work on and this anxiety is fucking me. And I keep getting more nervous because I need to work, and it just gets worse.

And my family put my grandmother in a place that takes care of old people because she was "falling" (not sure if that's the right term) a lot and getting hurt. I need to win the lotto to hire half dozen nurses to take care of her at her home
My mother called last night and told me.

I can't even visit her because she's in São Paulo, I miss my family so much I'm going to São Paulo in a month.

Jst force yourself to sit down and work. That feeling will go away after a while.

You just need to pick up the routine.

That sucks. I get something similar once in a while. Work out or do something to burn to energy. When I am like that I can't work so doing something else allows me to get away and then comeback and go for it.

I hope your grandmother is tudo bom.

You could try exercise. Walk, jog, shoot some hoops or whatever.

drugs work only short term during highly acute phases.
if you had,had some xanax etc you could have probably taken it the first night relaxed took a nap and then you might have been okay after that.

However you need to work on something that will treat this long term.

There are medications that don't affect you like valium etc...Buspar is one..it's for treating anxiety.

Another thing is as someone pointed out excersise...get out and away from the computer..out of your apartment.

Go lie down, listen to music, do something other than work or sit at the computer for a bit believe me it helps.

I get that a lot, especially when I am faced with a task that needs to be done before a certain deadline. Usually a warm tea, and a walk outside help to get me focused again.

I was fine till friday. I have these "anxiety peaks" once in a while.

I agree that I need to work out. The gym is a few blocks away, I don't have a car and it's too fucking hot to walk to there. My wife is working out in a gym just a few steps away from our building, but it costs 4x more (but it's better too). Damn.

I'll try to walk for an hour at 5:30 or 6PM, when it's less hot.

you need to have some rest and come back to your work thinking about your granny. Earing lots of mony you`ll have an opportunity to back her home. Good luck

I'm near the beach (like 1/3 of a mile away from it), I always wanted to live near the beach so I could walk and I'm not doing it.

Ok. Like I said I did walk 4 miles and come back one hour ago. Do you know how I was feeling? Hungry.

Now I'm feeling good and back to work.

You need to relax a little and stay away from the computer for some time.

Anxiety is a condition which feeds on its host, which, unfortunately, is you...

What I would suggest is this.

Break the cycle of the anxiety. Since you are feeling overwhelmed with all you have to do and you're concerned about your grandmother, the anxiety is replicating and causing you to crash, so to speak...

Walk. Swim. Go see a movie. Get out of your environment for at least an hour. Do something active that does not involve computers.

Let's face it. All that you have to do will be there when you get back and your grandmother's condition is what it is, I'm sorry to say....

I hope you feel better. I would advise against drugs or drinking because, sometimes, all that does is enhance the feeling of anxiety.....

Sounds like you need a break. Try taking the whole day off and then coming back to things when you feel refreshed.
