My head turned and I couldn't stop staring at her. I kept walking forward and was thinking to myself oh my God this is the woman I've been looking for my whole life.

Next thing I know I walked right into the glass door leading out into the mall, banged my head and fell backwards.

The weirdest thing of all and this really freaked me out. I had clipped out a picture from a Victoria's Secret style ad in the LA Times a couple years prior of a gorgeous model that I was just totally captivated by. It turned out that pic I saved from several years before was her.

For me, it happened in Lake Erie, no kidding. At the end of my street was a little beach club with private access to the lake and a big concrete pier that went out forty feet or so into the water. My girlfriend didn't swim well but she really loved to go in the water. She would get in and cling to the pier, too scared to let go and swim out into the lake. I tried teaching her to swim better, taking her a little way from the pier and holding her while the waves came in. One time she was extra scared because the waves were a little bigger than usual and I was encouraging her to swim away from the pier. She got out a few feet and got really scared so I swam up to her and held her in my arms while the waves hit us. I swim very well and I had no trouble keeping us both afloat. I got us back to the pier and held on with one hand while holding her in my other arm. When I took her in my arms, she laid back in my arms and totally relaxed. I knew then that she trusted me completely, that she didn't doubt my strength or my ability to keep her safe. I looked at her while I was holding her; she was shivering from being cold and I think a little from being scared, her hair was wet and plastered to her face and the sun was reflecting on the water around us. To me she looked as beautiful as anyone I have ever seen and I saw her faith in me in her face and in the way she was holding on to me and I knew that I loved her.

Corny but true and if I don't stop writing I am going to end up weeping like a little baby, again.

Eva and I were out on our first date and our third meeting. we were in a New York Italian style restaurant that was playing old Rock and Roll hits from the 50s & 60s. I was singing to Eva.

Later that night in the cinema I felt a damp patch on my shoulder, which is strange because the film, Face Off, is not a weepy.

Later that night back at my home we were making love on the sofa and I saw the look in Eva's eyes and knew she was in love with me. I knew I liked the look.

Six weeks later Eva went back to Czech, she only came to do the modeling to earn the bus fare. Three months after she returned to England to live with me, I think we both thought we could "Fuck it out of our systems" that we would come together, the love would wane and we would continue with our lives.

Six and a half years later, we have our home in Czech, a beautiful daughter and love each other more now than those first heady days of passion.

I will love her for the rest of my life, she will love me for the rest of hers.

thanks people...its great hearing other peoples love stories.

the gf i'm thinking of was from about 10 years ago. and i remember it was raining like crazy outside, and i was complaining about how bad the weather was. so she took me by the hand and told me to go outside with her. and in the pouring rain we walked outside, and she ran across the lawn and jumped into this massive puddle. she got covered in mud, and i just stood there and saw how beautiful she was, how innocent she was, how naturally alive she was...and i fell in love with her right there.

on nights like tonight, i find myself looking back on old moments of love. but i dont get sad about them....lol.....i just smile like crazy.

Thanks, MrIzz. No one can confuse you or hurt you the way someone you love can. There's no defense for love. Either you refuse to feel it in which case you miss out or you give in to it in which case you risk a lot of hurt.

Alright, here's mine... I had an ex who was just the most fun guy to be around. I had a crush on him my sophomore year of highschool, and we finally ended up being closer friends the last couple weeks before I moved 10 hours away to go to college. So, we ended up getting really close, kissing and really innocent stuff. But it wasn't til I came home for xmas vacation and I went to hang out with him and it started snowing. So we took his truck up into the middle of nowhere to play around in the snow. It was so much fun up there, getting in snowball fights, and spinning in circles in the truck. He made me feel like a kid again. Later that night we slept together for the first time. It broke my heart to have to leave again. He almost came and lived with me, but in the end I lost him.

true.

love contradicts reality for me....as much as it hurts to love someone who is not there, you will continue to love them.

but when love is in sync with both people there is a harmony, a peacefulness, a completeness that doesnt not compare to anything else. its perfection.

also, as a true survivor, i've been in love with only a few women in my past. deeply in love. where i thought at the time that she was the only one. and then again i always found someone else later on.

its so hard to get over a good love, but there is always hope that another love will come soon.

My story with jact is a little strange... we met on the internet.. like 10 years ago, playing an online multi user dungeon. We actually hated each other at first, but as we started to talk, we realized we had a lot in common and became friends. We would always talk to each other when our relationships were shitty, life was bad, good, ugly, or whatever... Anyways..

Fast forward to a couple of years later. I'm getting out of a REALLY bad relationship and the last thing i want it another one. He got out of a bad relationship, and we started to talk more again. He was in Toronto, I was in Calgary. Then the game we played annouced that they were going to have a player reunion in Toronto and that everyone was invited. At this point, jact was telling me he really cared about me and all this stuff, and I kept telling him he was on crack and to fuck off...

I wanted to go to the reunion though, and he offered to let me stay at his house (in a purely platonic way) for the duration of it. I flew to Toronto, and he picked me up at the airport, looking like a hippy and half tipsy from having a glass of wine on the plane. Another online friend of mine met us there too and we all decided to go out to lunch at the Keg. As soon as I got in the car with him and started talking to him, it was like we had been best friends who had been living next door to each other for our entire lives. We've been together ever since, and neither would have it any other way.

Might not seem that romantic, but it ended up perfect

I think somehow I knew beforehand that we would be perfect for each other, but I was pretty hesitant.. it was an "internet" thing in the beginning. It wasn't until I actually met him that I realized I loved him for who he was, and I have never stopped.

Love can be found in such strange places......

I'm getting out of a REALLY bad relationship and the last thing i want it another one. He got out of a bad relationship, and we started to talk more again. He was in Toronto, I was in Calgary. Then the game we played annouced that they were going to have a player reunion in Toronto and that everyone was invited. At this point, jact was telling me he really cared about me and all this stuff, and I kept telling him he was on crack and to fuck off... I wanted to go to the reunion though, and he offered to let me stay at his house (in a purely platonic way) for the duration of it. I flew to Toronto, and he picked me up at the airport, looking like a hippy and half tipsy from having a glass of wine on the plane. Another online friend of mine met us there too and we all decided to go out to lunch at the Keg. As soon as I got in the car with him and started talking to him, it was like we had been best friends who had been living next door to each other for our entire lives. We've been together ever since, and neither would have it any other way. Might not seem that romantic, but it ended up perfect I think somehow I knew beforehand that we would be perfect for each other, but I was pretty hesitant.. it was an "internet" thing in the beginning. It wasn't until I actually met him that I realized I loved him for who he was, and I have never stopped.
