My girlfriend just left me yesterday and I let her go. I am finally happy to be away from her because I was miserable in the relationship. Now she is comming by here telling me that she has no reason to live and to make sure her brother gets her truck..blah blah blah. I do not know how to handle this situation. Should I call her parents ?

Maybe. Most times it's a cry for attention. Just in case it's not you may want to let someone know so they can keep an eye on her.

She is 25 and she has told me that she has thought about it before the last time we broke up. I took her back last time because she was acting like this and I just can not do it again.

OMG this is awful I feel for you. But the best thing is to let her go. If you still love her you will let her go, don't take her back. That means don't call, dont' come over, etc. I would tell her parents but that's just me cause then they'll have to deal with her not you.

My 1st wife's sister used try 2 kill herself, I told my wife if she ever tried it, she would die because I would not help her. Well she tried it and I said die because I will not help you.
She didn't die ( got real sick, pills ) and never tried it again.

I would get in touch with someone that can watch her. As someone stated, it could be a cry for attention, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Also, even if she wanted to "stage" a suicide attempt in an effort to get you back, another form of a cry for attention: That could end up back firing and actually working. (Example: Taking a few pills not thinking it would actually kill her, etc.)

Alot of the times it is a cry for attention, an attempt to get you back, HOWEVER do not assume anything! Let someone know and they can watch/help her. That is all you can do. Don't try and help her yourself, because this will turn into a continuous circle. You help her, she's happy, you leave, she wants to die. Let others who love and care for her be the ones to help her through this. That is the best that you can do.

Suicide only punishes the ones who are left behind. I've been there and wouldnt wish it on anyone. That guilt NEVER goes away.

1. Call her parents
2. Call 911

One or the other will lock her up for a few days of drug-induced bedrest. Hopefully she will wake with clearer thinking and will have professional help at her side.

Ive been there.
I didnt handle it how I should have. My ex-girlfriend from like 3 years ago threatened to slit her wrists and I was so fed up with her stupid bullshit that I whipped out my knife, handed it to her and told her to go to the fucking bathroom cuz I didnt want any blood on my carpet. She took it, but came back 5 minutes later crying and telling me never to give her a knife again. I knew she was bluffing, but it was still stupid of me.
Your best bet is to call her best friend and have her (or him) go over to talk to her and stay with her. Try to convince her to call the suicide crisis hotline (every town/city has one) and talk to the professionals. Its free. I've had to get a few people to call it over the years and it actually does help. It also wouldnt be a bad idea to go through her house and take excess drugs etc for now.

That's the best tip one can give so listen to him... yor ex is mature enough so it sounds like emotional blackmail to me which has worked for her in the past.
