Ive been there.
I didnt handle it how I should have. My ex-girlfriend from like 3 years ago threatened to slit her wrists and I was so fed up with her stupid bullshit that I whipped out my knife, handed it to her and told her to go to the fucking bathroom cuz I didnt want any blood on my carpet. She took it, but came back 5 minutes later crying and telling me never to give her a knife again. I knew she was bluffing, but it was still stupid of me.
Your best bet is to call her best friend and have her (or him) go over to talk to her and stay with her. Try to convince her to call the suicide crisis hotline (every town/city has one) and talk to the professionals. Its free. I've had to get a few people to call it over the years and it actually does help. It also wouldnt be a bad idea to go through her house and take excess drugs etc for now.
