Question for Canadians

How would you rate the popularity of these sports in Canada in order from the most popular to the least?

Ice Hockey
World Soccer
MLB Baseball
NBA Basketball
NFL Football
MLS Soccer

Am I missing any?

My opinions are based upon what it was like in Quebec when i grew up there in the 70's and 80's. Basketball might have become more popular than soccer since but i'm pretty sure the top three are still in the same order.

I'd guess that 80% popularity belongs to the top 2. Ice Hockey clearly #1. Then people do watch the expos and blue jays a lot. For the bottom 20%, as mailman said, curling and lacrosse are pretty big up there too. I think those and even tennis would rate about the same as football, soccer and basketball.

Ice Hockey
MLB Baseball
NFL Football
World Soccer
NBA Basketball
MLS Soccer

IT also depends if you live in a market with a CFL team or not, I think.

And the prairies tend to like curling a LOT more than the west coast.

Interesting. Most Canadians fans of only the Expos and Blue Jays?

Not as much love for soccer as I would have thought

Lacrosse is really that popular? I'm guessing this is primarily popular on the west coast?

more questions:

1. Do you ride a dogsled to work?
2. Why do you say "aboot" instead of about?
3. Do you guys have Mountied police officers everywhere ?(although we do some places)
4. I heard its so cold that you have to wear Parkas, and Moccasins in the winter time. Is that true?
5. Do you live in igloos?
6. Do you see beavers living in our backyard?

I've got to admit CFL is awesome. Wish it was on TV here more, but it's not. I love watching one of the CFL's best QBs, Dave Dickenson (played for and is from the great state of MT!).

My family is actually one of the wealthier families out here... well, except for the guys who sell beer.

reason is, we have a big ol salt lick out back. so we dress up in furs with our guns and beer and cover ourselves in snow and wait for some big ol tasty critter to come aboot and get their salty rocks, then we blast em with our rifles! Sometimes, it takes 5 or 6 tries, cuz our beer is a bit strong...

worst part is, we gotta gut it right there (you have ANY idea how hard it is to keep the damned sled dogs outta the entrails?! Its like a delicacy for them or something) and then drag the carcass nearly 10km to my uncles place, cuz he is the butcher out here....
