If he's addicted, you have to realize that it is alot better to be addicted to coke than nicotine. Do you smoke?

Cocaine has no physical addiction associated with it, there is a strong mental addiction but that will pass after he hasn't touched it for a week or two...

Moderation is the key, and if he just started I highly doubt he's doing too much... I give him an A+ for expanding his mind

That is so true. I losed a friend over coke, he started using over the weekend and then it got worse and worse. He started lying about it, and when he started stealing my money I told him to get lost. I tried talking to him about it, but he just would not listen, just made things worse.

But there are a lot of people who only use on weekends and who can controle it, so I would just start to worry if he is starting to get 'junky tricks'

As a concerned friend you have a certain obligation to say something, but don't be a nag. He may just need someone to say they care, or he may not give a fuck. He's a grownup; he'll make his own choice.

Most cokeheads burn out on the stuff and clean up on their own. It might just be a brief phase. Best wishes.

there many levels of drugs use, but not all are considered addiction. some people only do a few lines at weekends,
others do 5-10 grams a day.

if he is only a casual social weekend user, then you shouldn't rat him out, he is not an addcit and you have nothing to worry about.

Only if he takes coke EVERY day, ALL day long, then he has a problem, and will need serious rehab.

Exactly, coke is one of those things your body lets you know that it just can't take. I was doing an 8 ball a day for a while but after a while, my body just started to shut down and things that should have been simple no longer were. He will see this. Waking up with bloody noses and having his eyes burning out of his skull @ 7 am when all the coke is gone will either make him or break him. Either way though...it's his choice.
