Who deserves the most respect?

Do you respect individuals with tons of cash and little to no drive, or individuals with enough capital to start something innovative and work their asses off?

I know most people love to kiss the ass of rich big wigs, but how is that practice any different than being a slave to corporate America? Are you an ass kisser or a person who roots for the hard workers?

Obviously a person with a ton of loot and a strong drive deserves respect, but it's not very often you'll come across this. To those individuals that are around, Cheers! However... It's very rare that you'll see a person in this situation who defines himself by his/her money. By the time you have time to gloat, there's others passing you, or waiting in the wings. What are you? An ass kisser hoping to have some money handed down to you, or a hard worker who respects those that have the same drive and motivation as themselves?

I think you know my answer to this one. I respect anyone who likes to work hard at what they do. Just because they aren't successful at first or they don't catch on as fast as others doesn't mean they're a nobody just means they need more time. I've seen how hard you've worked for the few years I've known you, hell I've even done some work for you over the years. My respect lies within how hard someone is willing to work at something and not give up.

Money is a game that has the odd's against you if you have none.

For instance: No money means your only gonna be paid what "They give you".
"They" will only pay you enough to get by.

The idea is to keep you alive and dependent on the source of income.
You won't get out of it.
You never will.
You will live like your family lived.

When you decide to fight to get ahead, people might referr to you as arrogant, one not to be trusted, one that is off the cuff.
You will have everyone in the world telling you that you are an idiot and a fool.

When you decide to make your way, you are breaking from the things that bound you odd's are you still won't be rich norwealthy.

Money tends to stay with people that have it in the long run of things.

Sorry thats just the way it is.

The people I respect the most are the ones who start from nothing and build up a nice business, and don't lose touch with the person they were before they had money, who stay humble, who put their money to good use, and who keep working hard even when they no longer have to.

The people I respect the least are the arrogant upper class types who inherited all their money, who think they are better than everyone else, who think their shit doesn't smell, who use their money for the good of themselves only and not others, and who look down on common people. I can't stand these types of stuck ups and I had to grow up with a lot of them in the suburbs of Philladelphia with all that old line WASP money.

Great points... On the other hand, I came into the biz with nothing, and I've amassed quite a savings since day 1. I've done what it takes to survive, learned more skills, took on more challenges and now I'm at a point where I'm on the verge of some success. There will always be a few that fall in the initial mode, then eventually break through.

Nice summation KRL. You've always been a person with something useful to say, and networking skills that are quite remarkable. While I'm not quite sure what is is you do, I'm sure you do it to the best of your ability.

Very well said and with that, I totally agree. I respect intelligence above most things, people who used their knowledge to become successful. Not necessarily reflected by the size of one's bank account, but by their accomplishments in life.

Well just offering my best advice to some of you young bloods out there...

I been in this business for 10 years.
I am not a millionaire.

I have helped MANY other's to that status. Generally its upto you to decide whether your going to play a game on someones elses rules or you can play the game with your own.

Albeit playing with your own rules is not easy.

Loyalty is tough to come by and even then when money is put in the equation it becomes convoluted.

There was once upon a time an Internet Start up.
I helped it become somthing, I put my heart and soul into making and contributing. That company was bought for $10 Million.

I didnt get a fucken dime except my check after promises, promises. Tough lesson to learn indeed.
I was only 19 at the time.

Respect is forshit when $ is in the middle.

LOL I did the same thing once. This was in the early days of computers and I was about 24 and helped a guy develop a new computer printing technology. Worked my ass off with him, all for promises of stock and going public with it. Yeh right, I got totally reemed, never got my stock, he sold the company and made a killing and I got squat. It was a great experience though and I never repeated that mistake again.

I got all my stock upfront from there on out in any deal. No promises accepted.
