my 97 f3 smokkin joe edition with bunch of upgrades. My friend was riding it in a parking lot, fell and bend the handle bars, rear rim along with with all the fairings and such. I want to get a 600rr but they only quoted me $8700 out the door for the black 04 model.

Thanks again! Except to the people talking about caskets and death and stuff. I wish I didnt let it bother me but Im sensitive so that shit bothers me. You people don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you're talking about some idiot who doesnt know how to ride. Or maybe you're talking about the other riders on the rode that I need to be careful of. Either way I'm not trying to be confident when I say go fuck yourself. Go fuck yourself. There was also a person who thought this bike was a 600RR.. Can you read man? Someone else asked what state I'm in..you should look at the "location" instead of asking.

My personal opinion on the people who call these bikes death traps or "I'll see you at the funeral" and what not.. is that you cannot ride or ride with the big boys and you should keep your opinion to yourself. Now I feel like I've responded to these people more than the cool people who said nice bike and for that I'm sorry. I really appreciate your comments so thank you.

edit: also someone asked if I got a matching leather and helmet set.. I got the Miguel Duhamel replica Shoei in black and a black Icon Motorhead jacket on order from different places online.

Nice post, but consider this.

I've been riding for 23 years. Raced motocross as a teen and been on just about every kind of bike that there is. I consider myself a safe, professional rider.

One night I got hit by a drunk driver in a uhaul truck going 45mph while i was sitting at a traffic light. Really not much you can do about shit like that but be glad you didnt die and gain a new appreciation for your legs when you get out of the wheelchair a few months later.

Just dont want you to get that, "I'm a great rider and it will never happen to me" attitude

Just be safe and wear all your protective gear no matter how hot it is, and EVERYTIME you ride. My helmet and Joe Rocket riding gear didnt keep me out of a wheelchair, but it kept me alive.

I appreciate your post thank you very much. Also, yes I definitely don't want the attitude of nothing will happen to me Im safe I know things like that happen I'm also happy you are ok. I know there are crazy assholes on the road. Well yes I will definitely wear all my gear and like someone said even in the hottest weather never take it off. Your post was accurate.

I was the one that asked what state you were in. 90% of the people here do not really live where the location field indicates they live, hence the fact I asked. My question was asked because if you take the totality of my post you may have seen I was aking because I cannot find one of these reasonably close to me.

Hope that clears it up. I am perfectly capable of reading, I was just asking for reassurance so I can check out availability in other regions.

edit - I have been a fan of the CBR1000 for more than 10 years, and it was the last bike I had before it got totalled. When I saw last year that Honda was re-introducing this model I was blown away and planned since last year to have another one as soon as I could find a silver/grey one. That was the paint scheme of my last one.

Thanks for clearing that up. Ive been a bit on the edge lately in my personal life sorry for being harsh. I too have been a fan of the CBR since I was 9 Great bike! Sorry your bike got totalled. I saw the grey/silver in person and I liked it. I did like the black better though so I had to get my hands on it.

Cool beans man, and np, just wanted to make sure I got seperated from the other crowd. Before my bike got hit, I used to run it at a place in Xenia, Ohio called (ironically) Kil-Kare Speedway. At 18/19, I was still light and tiny, so I had some pretty good runs on that bike. Somewhere I have some of the slips from Kil-Kare, I kept them because I ran a couple of low-11's and no one ever believed that bike could do it. I also used to have my runs taped so I could see when the front wheel actually came back down. I was usually to busy shifting and hanging on to remember it so I had to see it on video to really understand how to keep my wieght shifted.... Those were the days...

LOL, another funny thing that happened to me a couple of times...

A few years ago when the 600's started to become popular, and before the first 900RR, I let a couple of buddies ride my 1000. They had 600F1's and 2's. I have never, ever felt so unsafe on a motorcycle as the days I rode around on those mopeds while they rode my bike.

I have a Honda CBRxx1100. I ride to work nearly every day.

I think riding a bike has made me a better driver. On the bike I damn well know that if I get hit - or even have a close call - I'm going down, and I'm going to get hurt. Factor in that people don't see bikes as well as cars and it's very dangerous indeed.

This might sound gay, but every time I get on the bike I remind myself that I'm on the bike, and that I need to be fucking careful.

I pay much more attention to other cars, what they are doing, and what I think they might do.

And it carries over to when I'm driving my car.
