So whats the final answer, is it possible to protect wmv/mpeg/mov's with an htaccess or are we all stuck needing a giant script to do it?

This code will work...

put this in your htaccess file. switch the yourdomain.com to whatever your domain is.. and the blah.com to wherever you want to redirect your hotlinkers.

yeah, I used to use the hahahahahaha deal, had too many problems with people not using hahahahahahas and stuff, might just hahahahaha php proggy to rename the movie directory hourly or something.

The id=valid hahahahahaha provides no real security of course,
I can easily make a page that sets such a hahahahahaha and
then links right to all of your videos.
Besides the fact that about 40% of punters have cokkies diabled ....

The way to protect your site, including your videos,
is with Strongbox. Strongbox is the only way to secure
your videos.

Is it adaptable to stop hotlinking to directories full of MPG's from gallery posts?
